turbo

ive been wanting to turbo my AT but as far as i see it.
all the turbos that are out right now; arent that realiable
especially for AT. i hear all the stories on how
people turbo thier 8 and thier engine blows easily.
i get discouraged when ever i hear that.

BUT OVER ALL I STILL LOVE MY CAR ;D

i dont think they will be any good turbos out
untill next couple years.

Not just the engine I think, the transmission might not be able to handle the extra power as well.

Rick from Rotary Performance turbo'd his auto 8 almost a year ago, and has had no problems that I know of. You also have to keep in mind that there are A LOT of people who have a turbo, but will only step up and complain if something went wrong. As long as its running fine, you won't hear from them. So I wouldn't be too discouraged. As long as you have the proper tuning you should be ok. How to make the emanage work reliably has already been tested, and spelled out now so it shouldn't be much of a problem. If you want to step us your ems, go with Mazsports Interceptor X. You'll probably have to work with Scott to adapt it to the auto though.

Has Scott worked with any turbos and AT RX8's? Has he even tuned the Inter-X for an AT?
Maybe Scott could speak up when he pops in next. Would be encouraging.

I have looked at the A/T-8's and feel confident it could be done! I would prefer to have a car here for testing purposes but I could also just install maps based on older rotaries with the same injector setups. Of course be more conserative with the timing and let the end user fine tune it themselves. Is anyone interested, really interested? If so let me know, Scott

I am deff intersted in that Scott. I have an auto for the womans sake and would love to put the greddy package on it. I have been watching the posts for the last few months to see what happens. From what I understand, the emanage isn't as reliable, and a better way to go would be the interceptor. Is this correct? I'm not looking for 300 hp like some of the 6mt guys, just looking for a little more in the drivability / passing the idiots area. 6-7 psi is plenty for me.

BTW - I have just started posting, but I have found this to be the best all inclusive forum for us 8'ers
