Its better to have something than nothing.

Same idea as RB's flash, which lowered the fan On temp.

Charles how much for a m/t radiator. I'm not to happy with the koyo. The car is actually running hotter than the OEM. Can't put the OEM one back on it's MIA.

Thats great news I will ask Cam tomorrow. I'll be at the shop tomorrow. They have something else they want to try on my car. I hope it's a smaller pulley.

In regards to the over heating my car hasn't over heated thank god.

Cam had the koyo in his car and it started running hotter. Put his OEM back on and ordered another Koyo. While on the OEM the temps went down about 10 degrees. When the new koyo came in he put it on and the temps went right back up. He put the OEM back on temps went right back down. My OEM is MIA so I am SOL until the Black Halo comes in.

With my performance transmission none of the parts are off the shelf parts, everything was custom built for my car and then torque converter custom made to the specs the guy at level ten wanted. I have no specs on what they did or installed and no idea on what size conveter or what the stall speed is. I can tell you the new transmission is a lot better than the stock one.

One of the areas that Level 10's maintenance facility specializes in is providing upgraded transmissions for modified Japanese performance cars

You could find out the stall speed. Just hold the brake and the gas at the same time. Whatever rpm the engine peaks at is the stall speed.

here's how you can check the stall rpm (stock is just above 2200 for the 4port I don't know about 6port) come to a complete stop and hold the brake and press on the gas. if you can rev higher than 2200 in drive without moving you have a better TC, the car should want to go but you will have to hold the brake to keep it in place. This is not something I suggest you do repeatedly in a short time because of the heat build up. it would be awesome if they could get it to rev to at least 3000. 3500-4000 would be great. This is also called powerbraking and there are probably more names for it out there. With a nice TC that could launch an Auto at a decent rpm we will stand a much better chance against cars that normally beat up on the AT from a dig.

Chances are that Level Ten, on the TC issue, uses the factory unit, splits it open and installs a stronger one-way clutch along with a turbine and impeller that have different pitch angles. They probably also install an anti-ballon plate for future use.

One other thing; on the 6-speed A/Ts the need for a higher "stall" TC is greatly reduced as the gears take care of that concern. To raise the stall speed would negate the need for so many gears. To wit, my 10" TC and Powerglide(2-speed) on my old Nova and the fact that many Supra racers are only now discovering the value of GM's Turbo 350 and 400 trannies and Powerglides along with 8" and 9" TCs.

With the Renesis and drag-racing, the ideal stall speed would be 5,500 rpms.

I assure you, I have experience in this arena.

Nice info Charles, any future plans of you making a better TC for the AT's after the rad and axles?? Or is this going to be a custom thing that we would have to spec out and have done elsewhere? Thanks

The TC is where its at. Just like how the Lambo and others went from V12's to V10 and even V8's better TC. To deliver the HP from the Engine to the wheels faster.
