damn, that was quick. What kind / where?

Some one had it on an RX-8 they just bought. Long story short they went back to stock. As far as brand goes ,, it's just a pipe with a highflow cat that was gutted. No resonator. It does have the O2 bung though. Just have to wait for the car to cool down.
This is going to be loud. Mazdaspeed V2 Catless Catback. :uhh:

I just want to say Ray has always been outstanding. Looking out for the consumer. :)

Can't be any louder than Todd's. I wish I knew about this sooner. I have a 326 mile brand new oem cat you could have tried.

MazdaManiac 04-06-2008 12:00 AM

I've got a CAT laying around, also.
Doesn't make POWA, though!

Easy_E1 04-06-2008 02:43 AM

Now you all are volunteering your cats. To late, I'm going free flow with the loudness and flames. Now if I can just get the freaking bolts out of MF'ing exhaust I'll be set.

MazdaManiac 04-06-2008 03:01 AM

Pneumatic impact wrench.

SayNoToPistons 04-06-2008 01:08 PM

That means I can finally get an Esmeril kit without the EMS and plug in a Cobb AP instead of hacking the AT harness up?!!!

Atilla 04-08-2008 08:13 PM

Ok...

so i just did some number crunching on my finances for the rest of this month and now i have a dilema(sp) -

do i hold off on getting the AP and save up cash to get it later (in may) from MM

or

go for broke (and i mean BROKE!) and buy it from MM and have him tune it while he's here in Socal and be stuck with barely any gas or food for the following week

i know for some it's a no brainer - but come on...IT'S FOR MY BABY!! :(

what do you guys think?

Seti001 04-08-2008 08:54 PM

i say....go for broke man...!!!it will be a badass baby afterwords...and getting it setup right is always very important...i say..live off of ramen for a couple weeks :)

Atilla 04-08-2008 09:03 PM

^a man after my own heart haha

honestly, i can go either way with this - i'm just looking for a swaying reason to do so that i might have over-looked

Hell I can do better than that!

Pig out at Razz's BBQ then you won't have worry about eating for a week.

By the way... bring your Hawaiian shirt or no entry.

No Sh!7! Ray is right on this one. I don't get to be in his attendance offen and I'm in the same fricking state !
Come on Attilla, buy that AP, have MM tune it and call it good. (MM,1st 6port AT?)
When you start eating the ramen, add veggies and meat.

Jedi54 04-09-2008 12:12 PM

Atilla: if you buy it and are the first 6 port, I think MM was offering a discount! You might be able to afford Mac & Cheese instead of Ramen

Just kidding.

I know you know how to beat out a kick ass radiator, but didn't know you knew how to tune with an AP..
I like burning bridges!

Phil's 8 04-09-2008 01:37 PM

I think that there are several that may be looking to get that 15% discount that MM offered for being the first 6 port.

Ride the Bus or Walk damnit.. oh and buy a 1lb of Bolgna and Cheese and you'll survive.

BlueKnight 04-09-2008 07:56 PM

Yeah, my heart sank a little when I saw his post. :greenchai Had already contacted MM to buy it and have cash in hand. :buttslay: But who knows. Might not work on my '08 so he may still get a shot at it.

Plus MM was on his way to see the Grim Reaper. He seems to have caught something when he was in Las Vegas. I pretty much think he has the flu. So we'll try this again some time in the future.

My 07 was doing the same thing after 20k miles and was driving me CRAZY - come to find out the catalytic converter was toasted... o.0

arlingtonrx8 04-09-2008 08:40 PM

Just curious if the RP supercat would be as just about as effective as a straight midpipe? Id hate to spend money on the RP if it will cause problems later.

Atilla 04-09-2008 08:42 PM

haha!

Thanks for the input every one - I guess it's no real contest haha!

This will probably be the only time i'll ever say this but, if all goes well, and Blue Knight and myself get on this AP thing - I'LL BE EATING TOP RAMEN FOR A WEEK!!!1 :)

uhh...thread jack?

no but seriously - RP supercat is close if not equal in it's effectiveness to many mid pipes (depending one where you get it).

The only thing you have to keep in mind is the supercat won't give you a CEL. The mid pipe will.

Some times one must sacrifice. It'll be worth it. :)

arlingtonrx8 04-09-2008 08:47 PM

Hahaha, sorry, it was kinda in that direction!! But yes.. Id say spend all your moniez and be happy with ramen and water.
Thanks for the reply.

[QUOTE=Atilla;2398329]uhh...thread jack?

Easy_E1 04-09-2008 08:51 PM

Speaking of midpipes,,, I put the one I got on a few days ago. Am waiting for the next AP Dyno session with MM. Just on a personal view. Seems like I've lost a little power down low. But above the 5750 mark it seems to pick up like it never has before. Passing at 60 seems a bit quicker too.
So when we get a chance to do some more AP dyno time we'll know what really happened.

PS: It makes a hell of a lot more noise!
