I read somewhere that you are unable to install air dams on AT cars, is this true?

Sorry, I know this is not quite a performance issue, but I didn't know where else to post the specific AT question. :o

At any rate, if this is true, it will be quite disappointing, I was set on wanting air dam, ms sides and aero rear parts

 

why wouldn't you???!! Of course you should, who told you otherwise?

Your car is very nice! You have the mirrors installed too, nice touch. Did you find it hard to adjust to even smaller side mirrors?

 

yeah tere is a disclaimer on a couple of parts that says "not for at cars" the appearance package lip might be one of them. i dont know why. maybe a at tranny cooler gets its airflow blocked?

 

Using it for the first few days it's a bit odd 'cause the size is like about 60% of the standards, but I got used to it eventually. NO PROBLEMO.

 

I see - that just might be, but don't you guys worry. I live in sunny Phuket, Thailand (33-36 c) and my friend is stuck in Bangkok's traffic with his AT 8 everyday and it's freakin' HOTTER! ('bout 33-37 c)

 

I don't see why it wouldn't work, the hole looks to be the same size, with or without the lip. I seem to remember seeing AT cars at the dealership with the full appearance package.

 

Well I'll guess I can look into this more with time. Just a poor college student, so I have to wait to buy the appearance package mods I want.

The wait will be excruciating (sp?) but I hope well worth the wait.

 

well i just went and built an AT on the Mazdausa website and it allows you to select the whole appearance package as an option. so forget what the brochure says
