1st Mod of many 2 come.
As you guys know i bought an 8 back in november of '07 and about 2 days ago i ordered a KN V2 intake. I wanted 2 know if i had 2 do anything prior 2 installing the intake in the car. I've heard other owners oiling the intake prior 2 putting the intake in the car. How do i go about doing that and will i have 2 reset the ECU after the intake install. Thanks!

Original Turbo 'd Auto !!
When you do buy the HKS Single, one to pay attention to.
The Ti tip sleave has 2 oval cutouts. Its held on by 2 4 or 4.5 mm allen head bolts.
Dont leave any space aft of the bolts. If you do the hot exhaust gas will blow though this space and start to melt the plastic shroud in concentric rings.
Don't ask me how I know.
I'll post a pic that shows what I'm trying to explain.

Original Turbo 'd Auto !!
Better late than never. Sorry for the weird angle. If you look where the bolt holds the Ti tip on, notice there is no space for exhaust gas to escape.

If you look at the pic, all you see is the bolt and the metal behind it through the oval cutout.
If you have the bolt in the middle of the oval, there is enough gap that exhaust gas will "shoot" out of that gap and melt the plastic shroud.
I think that made sense....
