Your going to love that radiator, I never could get it sealed up perfectly for some reason the foam pad I bought never stuck to it, but it was still a drastic increase in cooling capacity.

FYI it will take close to 3 gallons to fill the entire system to now, the radiator is that much bigger.

Good thing I bought 3 Gallons of Mazda FL-22 coolant!!!

Ill have to figure out a solution for the foam then... Hmm...

I tried it, it fell off, I said screw it and never looked into it again giving my location

IMO it would be a great chance to switch to Evans given your location.

Ehh... Ill switch to Evans NPG+ later... I just want this to be done with...

As for Foam, I have found a pretty good sealing foam for the radiator but I can't figure out where to buy it.

Armacell Ensolite SC-500

According to their website:

"Ensolite SC-500
Semi-Closed Cell EPDM Foam
High temperature resistance / excellent sealing capabilities
Good weather and Uv resistance Medium cell size with low
compression *deflection *and * good compression set excellent sealing properties (Air & Water Seal)"

I've never heard of that, Rotory_redliner is in Germany with a turbo 8 and he was tuned via Cobb.

Maybe I am just being OCD about this foam thing, but I feel the right time of foam makes all the difference as far as sealing goes, hence why I am looking for a good closed cell foam. Anyone have any recommendations? Maybe I am overthinking this foam thing as I know many people just go to Home Depot or Lowes, but still... Id like to believe there is a product designed for radiator sealing so....

You can do MM service but at the moment the tuner software doesn't let EU owners tune themselves. Mazda Edit does though.

I used some insulated tape (abou1/4 in thick) used for weather guard on a sliding glass door picked up from Homer depot. so far so good!

all you want is for air not to escape from the shroud assembly. as long as it can withstand the heat your in the clear.

will report back if I catch on fire..

*EDIT - note I have the BHR radiator

Heavy-duty-rated closed-cell high-performance pixie-dusted 6-sigma ACE Hardware's Foam Window A/C seal should suffice. Just buy plenty of it. You need more than you think you need.

This is coming from someone who overthinks most everything.

I used PVC pipe cement to put the foam on. It's holding pretty good. Just test on an extra piece of foam to make sure it doesn't eat the foam.

I guess Ill upload some pictures of my Grom handsfree bluetooth install... Having bluetooth in the 8 feels like a huge upgrade, and so far I have not heard a sacrifice in Audio quality...

Only problem I had was where I mounted the mic. It pics up a lot of engine noise, making it impossible for anyone to hear me. So, to fix the issue I picked up some audio insulation and cut it into a square. I then zip-tied it through the opening and back into it to hold the insulation on. I hate that I had to use zip-ties to fix it but at the location I picked I don't know how else I would be able to insulate the microphone other than with zip-ties.

Picture this with a black zip-tie holding some audio insulation behind it. Ill take another picture when I get a chance.

Nonetheless It works great and you can hardly see it, it just doesn't have that 'clean' look that I'm looking for so Ill probably try to fix it somehow in the future.

Not waiting on parts, Team is in Japan and since I don't know exactly how to install an engine by myself, things have slowed down. This whole experience is a learning one for me. I am no pro, so since this is my first engine install it's all about the learning action.

I have some things planned myself to do while he's gone but I can't say it's going to be a ton of progress to be honest.

I had some oil where the tranny and engine connect so I cleaned that out, seems I had another oil leak. Took off my insulation in my engine bay and cleaned it since it looked like ****. Also cleaned the undercarriage of my car since Ive had an oil leak for the last year. The entire underside of my car was covered in oil.
