I have been a very bad boy in updateing this.

I actually finished the entire install at 3am on the 21st. Did all my base logs. No leaks, no nothing. (thank god) then I packed up and drove 500 miles in the RX7 for school. So now the installed car is sitting my my driveway 500 miles away waiting for MM tune.

Nuke- yeah thats what i have. Dont bother with the c clip pliars, they suck. I just bought 90 degree needlenose ones, and filed the tips down to fit the holes. Take the cov er off the BOV too to get a better angle. I pushed the back of the ring in with my other hand while i slowly let off with the pliars. After that i took a screwdriver and whacked it with a mallet to make sure the ring was fully seated (it wasent at first) A big thing is too notice there is a top and bottom to the ring, make sure the rounded edge side is on top.

nothing, i want to move on to other things. Instead of going to the MM upgrade I have decided to build a mazdaspeed type car using a pettit supercharger kit with a specialty blower.

I am finally in the market for my 500hp FD build, so that will be my turbo car, and this my supercharged car.

I loved my kit, and sad to see it go, but I will still be around boosting, just different kit. I had a long talk with CRH about the whole pettit vs turbo debate, and came to a mutual conclusion that neither individual kit (greddy vs pettit) stands out over the other just different personalities (although pettit is at a higher price)

So to be 100% honest its just to do something a little more different and unorthadox

Sorry Wingle just a few questions... With the HKS BOV it isn't a direct connection to the GReddy charge pipe? Will I need to buy fittings for it or is that only because yours was bought used? Also since your install did you go recirc. with the SSQV or did you keep it VTA?

For the Lotek Gauge pod how did you find it's fitment? Was it a nuicance to have to cut through the stock dash piece? What tools did you use to cut it?

I think I have the Pre-Turbo Jitters!!

you will need to buy a fitting for it to be welded. remember the pipe is aluminum so you need to buy the aluminum fitting, you can buy them at apturbo.com. however finding a person who can weld aluminum well is going to be tricky. it cost me $100 just for that small weld, and he still melted through a corner (fixed with a bigger o-ring) so be careful.

I did not recirc, I decided to VTA till it was tuned and if I still had problems i would VTA. I had no issues so i never messed with it.

I like the lotek, at first you can see the seam and it bugged me but after a while it just looks like a factory seam. i always have people ask me if it came stock. I actually used a drill and a hand saw to get a big hole open, then used a rotozip for the exact shape. It worked great and i could have used the rotozip for the whole thing if I was smart, but it could get out of control and cut through the plastic like butter, so mistakes would be easy to make. I just cut about half an inch small then used a sharp exacto knife to open up the areas that conflicted. i spent way to much time on it but thats my OCD with trying hard to to ruin anything.

....should have just bought my kit.......

so as i am trying to remove the actual manifold, turbo, and downpipe, I wonder; how the hell did i get my hands/tools/bolts into some of these spots? did they expand? are my fingers and tools getting fat?

i literally have no idea how to get the middle bottom manifold to engine bolt out. i literally bent and ruined the open end of my 14mm wrench today... I hope i can get this done.
