Then by all means a turbo or a supercharger is definately worth the price. For that matter I think I'd be jumping on the 20B, but thats just me.

I can definately relate with keeping a toy for a long time. My big block 67 vette has been with me for over 20 years. It's box stock other then SS caliper sleeves and not so much fun to tweak. For that matter it's not half as much fun as the RX8 is to drive.

I was considering doing an RX8 with a small block chevy with a C6 transaxle but the transaxle won't fit without totally re-doing the rear section including the seats.

Best of luck on your project.

i app. it! lol im not jumping to the 20b engine right off the bat cuz there is no reason for me to take a brandnew engine out the 07 brandnew till i feel its had its time. The first stage of my project is to have fun with it. take it to a few shows. And learn how to correctly drive the potential of the rx8. :D but ya that would have been bad *** to put a c6 in a rx8 :D that would be nuts :D lol. And sorry mysql101 i over exagerated that about all the problems. :P

Also Greddy customer service is terrible. If you are missing parts out of your kit (and I did) don't expect them to be very helpful.

Well I hope the superchargers will be ready in a month. But that may not be the case and the wait might be much longer. The twinscrew (Pettit and Hymee) and the AxialFlow look real nice, but so far nothing is there, no hard dyno numbers (but Pettit gave out numbers), no firm prices, OR no kits ready to ship. So far Pettit seem the closest to being ready, but its hard to decide if the other superchargers are not there to allow you to compare them. Would love to be at the point in which I could see which could do what and then decide on which to buy.

Thats cool, but not something that appeals to 90% of the folks that own a sports car these days. It takes more of a hot rod type person to appreciate the effort it takes to reap the rewards of FI.
The last sentence sums it up. You have to do your homework and be ready to take on the extra responsibility. But it's fun! My greddy turbo kit is almost installed (should be done today!) and I'm proud of the fact that I did it with my dad's help on car ramps! Installing a Mazsport kit would have taken me a week or more
