I posted a reply on this thread a year and half ago and have reread it in amazement it is still ongoing! What has changed in regards to turbos/supercharges on the RX8. I still have not done anything with my 8.

It says it's a supercharger kit and I noticed a full header back exhaust system as well as a centrifugal supercharger. It's not typical to provide an exhaust system with a supercharger is it?

I had talked to DNA sales about this kit a few months back and they had worked a deal with mazdatrix to sale the kit in the USA. They just got the parts in this week and are in the proccess of installing it. The Austalian customers have liked the kit and alot of cars make more then 300 RWHP at 8-10PSI and they offer a 12PSI kit. DNA has just not pushed this kit to the USA because of the initial negitive response to the lack of low end power which DNA says is not true. DNA was selling the stage 1 for $10000 AUS $ or about $7500 USA and stage 2 for $11000 or $8300 USA.
Stage 2 comes with the headers which are the nicest headers I have seen and the sell for $700 AUS, see link for picture.

Stage 2 also comes with injectors and a bigger pulley.
What I like about this kit is that it does not add alot of extra underhood heat which means you can actualy take this to a track and not overheat which according to what I have heard is not the case with most turbo systems.
Because it is a centrifical supercharger it has a self contained oiling system which helps it run cooler and makes the install much easier. Everyone who has written about this kit says it is a great track race or daly driver kit and it does not change the feel of the RX8, it only makes it feel like a stronger RX8.
I think the HP numbers are based on the percentage gains seen by the australian cars which start out with about 160RWHP but I think we will see a smaller percentage increase and very similar total output. Stage 1 will be good for about 260-280 RWHP at 6PSI, 280-300rwhp at 8PSI, stage 2 300-320rwhp at 10PSI and 320-340 rwhp for 12PSI.
I am interested in seeing what Mazdatrix does with the kit and if they change anything.
Oh, it does not come with a full exhaust, only headers.

Oh. I thought the pipe on the left was a midpipe with the O2 sensor bung.
There's a centrifugal supercharger dyno sheet in the FI dyno comparison thread that doesn't get above stock hp/tq levels until around 5K rpm. Any charts or information about this centrifugal S/C performance relative to stock at lower RPMS? To address the concerns over low end performance?

Damn that header is very nice, looks as good as the ceramic coated ones I put on my 5.0 mustang. They were higher end BBK's

I believe that the DNA centrifical (procharger) SC and the Pettit twin-screw (Lysholm) kits will have similar max HP and TRQ numbers when ran at the same boost level.
What is nice about the Pettit is that the boost comes on much quicker giving better low end power and the compressor stops making boost when not underload which will help keep MPG normal and reduce heat build up.
What is nice about the DNA kit is that the power keeps going up as RPM's go up which gives it very smooth and consistant power, it also has less parts, has a self contained oilling system and the procharger is known for adding very little extra heat which makes it a great choice for our hot running cars or people who want to track there cars.
The procharger c-2 unit can produce 24PSI (I think) and 1100 CFM which is more then enough air to produce 775 HP(according to Procharger). So if mazdatrix adds an upgraded fuel pump and an upgraded ignition system, this kit could get over the 400HP mark, otherwise it will have the same restrictions as all the other kits.

way to bump a two year thread with out dated information.
Stuff for our cars cost more because we are a nitche market- companies won't sell mass quanities of product like they would with say an Evo, WRX, Mustang, Civic, etc.

Actually I went to the website and got the current price. As for the 'niche market' line, I used to race fiero's, and -that's- a niche market!!
High prices come from lack of competition, not low sales. That's just simple economics.
I like the car, a few more ponies would be nice. Course living in California makes certain things tough as you have to get it by the smog overlords (CARB).
