yea. im going to move my battery to the trunk of my car and i still debating on the air to water intercooler but i still like to do the v-mount set up. which a vender suposed to be having one made in the summer some time. But i will more than likey buy the manifold and change how the turbo sits in the engine bay.

a v mounted was an idea i had for a while but space just looked so restricted under the hood that i just dropped it but ill love to see 1 on a 8 that **** looks sik

I always did like the look of this setup. No need for that right hand turn on their CAI though, it could have been straight and with a filter just outside the hole.

 

yeah, that the look i was going for i always like the look of the FD's engine bay setup. with all those bends it make the turbo setup more complicated then it really is.

The ptp manifold is one unit right? (meaning upipe to turbo is incorporated into manifold)...if so then all I would need to do is fab a dump tube...already have all my cold side piping for a front mount...

 

Why not use a turbo blanket?

The up pipe is one piece and the downpipe is 2 more pieces. There are 3 pieces total for the PTP hot side plumbing. You can't by the 2 piece downpipe seperately, either.

 

It always did freak me out how the front mounts have to run the exhaust pipes touching the radiator hoses.

 

My downpipe is double wrapped with DEI exhaust wrap and my radiator hoses are heat shielded with DEI adhesive heat wrap. I also have an EGT probe about 1' from where they touch. I plan to keep a close eye on that because it scares me too.

 

Yeah, not to concerned about the downpipe which is much easier to fabricate versus a manifold

 

Yeah, my up and down pipes are wrapped pretty well, and I also got some of that DEI aluminized tape and wrapped the hell out of any hose in the vicinity (I need to take a pic of this when I get home )

Even then the hoses are "water cooled," so max temp would be limited to probably around 230 degrees or so, it would still put a lot of unnecessary strain on the stock cooling system (after all it would be using the radiator to cool the EGT).

I consider a radiator upgrade a must for a front mount setup.

 

Actually the downpipe is the hard part. You can by the Renesis exhaust flange from Racing Beat and the T4 turbo flange from ebay. The downpipe has almost no clearance with the radiator hoses, OMP, motor mount, firewall, and wastegate. Thats not even mentioning the fact that it has to mate up with turbo, the midpipe, and not cause the exhaust to rattle around.

 

Depending on temps on the street/track with the BHR radiator I'm getting I may have to pull the A/C this summer if I want to track it at all. (just trying to look though it is a restriction.)
