Tuning Greddy today!!!!

We have an appointment with thte dyno for 3 hrs today. Yesterday we did some testing and the car runs very good even not tuned. We tried the car up to 9.5 PSI, I can tell you, the difference between 9.5 and 7 is HUGE!!!! The car is a rocketship! We still have to remove a lot of fuel from the original map, GReddy made this map so so so rich to make sure nobody blows an engine. It is way way way too rich. You can feel it after 6K. My car AFR goes to 9-9.5!!! I cant imagine how the car will feel when we tune it. I will post the dynos tonight. Comparison between not tuned at 7 psi and 9.5 psi and tuned at the same boost... :D

Greddy owners do me a favor please, answer in the "can u hear the wastegate thread". This is valuable info for me since that will let me know if there is something wrong with my car. Thanks

Wow, I'd like to see what kind of numbers you are putting down after tuning it with 9.5psi. May have to change my mind about this kit.

Damn dude, 9.5 psi on the stock map. That's some risky stuff. It must be really rich to begin with. I think your also runnin the injectors pretty hard, as I think your at 85% duty cycle at 9psi from what Mazda Maniac said and you don't want to run them any harder than that.

Post some dyno charts with your results though. I can't wait to see them!

if the stock map is that rich its only going to run better with more air / cfm going through it.

and i agree i cant wait to see the the #s.

Lschiavo, if you cannot kill my 0 to 60# and 1/4 # by at least 1.5 sec. and i think you can. i will never watch open wheel racing on speed tv again.

btw, watched the trans am tonight from up north like where you live. great ending, but not what trans am used to be.

another thing. look at the hp rating on the dyno. i spent some time after i installed the revi shifting at ~8700rpm. got about an extra .25 sec.

beers

Yep it was pinging at 9 PSI... Anyways, i think we tried too hard. If we run up to 8 psi, the car is good no pinging. Our original run was 188 WHP @ 5.8 psi and 180 FT/LBS or TQ. We ended up at 245.9 at 8.2 PSI and 217 TQ. Huge improvement over the curve. We did the test onh a Mustang Dyno
I will let you know the full story tomorrow and post dyno too. I am tired by now. Thanks

Mustang Dynos are notorious for reading lower than other dynos.

Lschiavo- was that 188whp without the turbo, or with the turbo prior to tuning?

Wow! Congrats Luis! How's the acceleration now? No more 6K slowdowns? Man, I'm excited for you. Any chance you might be able to dyno it on a dynojet? <crossing fingers for 300+ HP> :D

No, not yet, just got my colder set of plugs in a couple of minutes ago and waiting for the profec e-01 to come in, i may tune for around 7 while waiting for the profec though by adjusting the wastegate on the turbo itself and tuning the emanage. Hopefully later this weekend I will have a chance to really tune her up!
