Post under this:

I want to use the Ren motor, make it harder? Sure, it's just what I want.

Ever been there before.

We will come see you in jail, unless you get manslaughter and the death penalty for killing some retired people on the Highway.

My folks are down there plus other friends.

Actually ya a lot.
The keys, Orlando (uncle in winter park).
Friends own a house on the gulf and went there two or so times a year.
All in all maybe ... 30 times?

Pretty sure anyplace you go and get caught doing 120+ they arn't going to be happy. That's not really what this post is about.

I was late for a metting once and was on my R1.
I had to take the next exit and for some odd reason when I went by the cop (he was hiding)I slowed down and took the exit anyways and got pulled over. He thanked me for actually pulling over ect ect.

I had been doing 150+ for about 20mins.
I passed him @ 196 on the speedo.

<shrug> I've been pulled over more time then prob 99% of the population. If I go to jail I go to jail. Frankly I dont' care. I like to go fast.

I raced W.E.R.A for a while and still race cars and bikes @ Miller Motorsports park. So all the grandpas telling me to take it to the track need not reply.

That being said.... I'll be talking to MazSport tomarrow and maybe making some other calls.

(Please don't take the above post as me sticking my chest out I just find it funny how so many people always make such a big deal about driving/riding fast)

YMMV.

How so ? Add up a Greddy kit, then your upgrade, then (not sure if your kit includes this) but an Interceptor X and what are you at ?

Ballpark.

Greddy Kit = Street Price $3200
MM Upgrade = $1600
Interceptor X = $1200

Total $6K.

You can use the EManage Ultimate but I have never been a fan of that unit. Your total of $5800 for your kit & the Greddy makes a lot more sense. But it's not $3K difference. Wish Greddy would have made the kit like that originally.

By the time you are at the same level of completeness from Pettit or MazSport, you are well over $8k.
And, as I noted, the "bottom line" price included the AccessPORT, which is half the price of the Int-X and a thousand times more capable.

The Pettit "kit" ends up being far more expensive by the time you are done fixing it and the MazSport stuff is very high-end and at the opposite end of the spectrum from the Pettit.

Yes. In my original post, I was more talking about going it alone, getting the Greddy kit, getting an upgrade (yours or someone elses), getting an upgraded ECU, etc. That to me made no sense, but with your complete kit, it does make a lot more sense financially. And the kit is a lot more complete. Like I said, I wish this is the way the Greddy kit would have come originally.

Found someone

Thanks for the insight on people to go to and all the PMs in the last week on info about tuners and general info on the 8. I must say you guys are a cut above most car club websites. Seems I found myself someone close to where I'm going to be living to build me a 400-450 RWHP 8 that will be reliable enough to not break every time I give it some good ol' boost.

EDIT: Not to oerstep my bounds - reliable enough to not break if driven the right way!

End product should be a lot of fun and what i'm looking for... different then the rest of them.

Thanks again.

I've talked to maybe 8 people , some I met through here and some I met via other avenues of life. There is no reason an 8 can't make over 400WHP without breaking as long as everything else is in place and you don't drive like an idiot. There is no question the ability to break the car at that point will be infinitly easier and more or less enevitable at some point, as everyone obviously knows. I'll own another DD by the time the car makes 450 RWHP as I fully expect to break things and fix them.

EDIT<a>: I had a conversation this afternoon with a friend who has tuned some of my cars in the past. He did someones 8 @ 401 and then 421. They drove the car , strapped it back down and broke it. I trust the guy to tune my car but I don't really trust nor know anything about the setup on that particular 8 other then it uses the Renesis and not some swap. I'll see if one of them will come here and post up the dyno graph. I myself havn't seen it yet.

EDIT<b>: It looks like I make it to FL in July/Aug at which point the project will start.

If you have all that money to burn why not just go for a 20B turbo upgrade....we have members here pushing obscene numbers ((and flames)) with these setups....
