If we see a decent dyno in within the next 6 months I'll be very surprised .

Dyno results are finally in and it is rear wheel HP. I was sceptical however, the results are there for all to see. They are still short of the 500 however, they are still working on the tune. It looks like that they will get there. Here is a video of the dyno https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v...type=2&theater

Hub dyno to roller dyno usually shows 40-50 whp difference.

So factoring that in at 427 hp, they are close to 377 whp on a roller dyno. Which is still a good #.. But at 19psi that engine is gonna pop on the dyno, not sure though the trans might go first.

427 on the hub isn't half bad for an auto with a stock exhaust :o

I would have thought the auto transmission would have already popped. It seems that must have done some sort of upgrade as they are quite weak in stock form.

Not bad, lets see it on the strip. I hope it lasts longer than a few dyno runs.

It will be interesting to see the long term reliability. However, the builder has a good track record with the RX8 SP development that was a clear success.

320+ whp on a 4 port is kicking some ***. Did they post the AFRs? Like you guys are thinking at 19psi it is likely going to pop.

It's good progress, I want to see how it plays out but there is no reason to be optimistic since even if they succeed it will mean very little for us.

I forgot they are offering a turn key solution. $30k is still a lot of cash for a 1.3l grenade

The price is rediculous. Its just not worth it. Theres a great shop where I live in nz who offer a turn key 400hp rew swap for $15k.

I think it is good value as a lot of upgrades have gone into the build. It is not a simple build and a lot on ancillary bits have been added,

They hit 427 whp not hp @ dynapack they got that number on wheels !

The Pac Performance 'Project 500 RX8' has been put through its paces on the dyno for the first time with great results.

There are still a few bugs to sort out but things are looking very positive with the car putting out a solid 427rwhp at 19psi on pump EFlex E85. That's through the factory automatic gearbox and full exhaust! (The dyno fan is almost louder than the car LOL)

Stay tuned for a full update on the build soon on our website www.pacperformnce.com.au

That kind of power on a 4 port engine is pretty impressive.
but its all about the details, I wish the community wasn't so "Secretive"

I mean how much porting did they do?

did you notice the turbo didn't have a wheel in it?

did they us OEM size apex seals? Groove out the rotors for deeper seals? use rx7 rotors?

looking at the video and seeing the different dyno curves 0:52 it looks like a really slow spool.

so maybe its a completely different turbo then posted pictures.

what is the timing like? afr's like? could they be doing something fundamentally different then what we consider normal for a tune? especially sense most of the information people base there conceived power output stems from tunes made by MM who has sense been banned, and failed miserably at some recent boosted cars....

I don't think there is enough build information to say what it can and can't make. I wouldn't be surprised if it was fitted with rx7 rotors and had a huge laggy turbo on it....
