There will be dyno results to prove it I am sure but I will believe it when I see it make an 11 second 1/4 mile pass.

But aside from that it looks well fabricated if they have a viable solution for the drivers side engine mount.

^^ Exactly.

The parts they are using don't equal up to even 500 bhp let alone at the wheels. Reliable MSP motor at the airflow levels required for their target is a pipe dream. Add in the fabrication quality of that manifold...

Not that it means much but the welds on that manifold are way better than Turdblowns and on par with the manifolds I have seen from PTP, etc..

Keep up the good work RT. Cant wait to see it done.

Just ignore the and the speculations on your project that hasn't even been finished yet. You will get a lot of that around here.

Make sure to take some video of it. Would love to see it in action

It's not BS, it's just reality. No one has made anywhere near 500WHP on a Renesis and they aren't about to start now with this setup. But I would love to be proven wrong.

Even a 500 WHP REW would need a turbo twice that size to flow the appropriate air.

Could be a big mistake .......

Thats the first thing I noticed, I've seen a few successful 7's run with no OMP.

But I don't think the renesis, can handle it...

500 target whp with no OMP seems like a bad idea. I don't think a high premix ratio would help that issue..

IIRC from Eric meyers posts, the NA Renesis powered RX-8 race cars engines were short lived when they ran without the OMP, and it was determined that premix plus the factory OMP was the best setup they could run. It has already been demostrated that a turbocharged Renesis without an OMP doesn't last long. Or any turbocharged Renesis for that matter (knocks on wood) J/K.

For 30k I'd expect a genuine Mazdaspeed bumper not a replica

How can he afford the 5 extra engines if he gives you a genuine mazdaspeed bumper.

Massive intercooler. I think they will run a fairly high boost level judging by the pipe and intercooler size. I assume E85 will help with elevated power levels however, it will be interesting to the final results. At this rate of progress they should be ready in a month.

Its not the reality witch makes it BS. Its the nip pick on every detail. Like the welds, come on really. Those welds are pretty good from others . I personally wouldnt have a problem using them.

No one, not even the builder himself knows exactly what the out come is going to be. It is a custom set up. This is all assumptions on what the out come is.

Before bashing his goals, wait to see the out come. Its more of a line of respect for the builder. Its not like he is putting a potato shooter for an exhaust. It is a set up that has never been replicated. There are some close but not at all the same.

If anything you guys should be encouraging him to do his best. Will he hit 500whp, probably not. But im not going to put him down becuse I don't think its going to happen.

Others will read this build and learn from what he has done. No one will learn from assumptions. So why make them?

If you want to ponder on the idea of what the perfect build would be, start a new thread. I guarantee the builder will read it. No reason to ruin his build thread on thoughts and not facts. Because the fact is, you wont get the facts until the build is done and tested.

The builder hasn't even posted on this thread, they claimed 500whp before the build was even started. Pictures were uploaded by rotary therapy he is located in South America. The builder is located in Australia

We are simply critiquing his work as he goes along. The welds on the exhaust manifold don't look that bad but I've seen much better work on a $6000 kit.

Since we have been on here for quite some time we've seen several setups like this. This setup is not new or ingenious. Its a low mount turbo, the manifold was designed to be equal length which caused them to cut into the front cross member (that is a first). It also required them to delete the lifeline of the Renesis the "OMP" (not a first). Running the boost required to hit 500 whp or even 400 whp with no OMP would be like running a race with no water in your body.

This kit is a great one off build for a drag only venture, not a daily driver.... For $30k I would expect much more from them than what I am seeing.

If the builder was smart he would read this thread and use our comments to build a better kit. He is essentially getting free advice from his target market, large corporations pay thousands of dollars for this.

I believe renesis can get 500 whp if rew capable yes it has side ports but it doesn't mean it can't get 500 whp if they know what they have doing, i am sure they have lots of experiencec and they are easily handle 500 whp..

As i posted 1 page ago one of the rx-8 owner talk with pac performance rodney
And you know sp turbo rx-8 is reliable turbo renesis and they know how it is reliable

Just spoke to Rodney at PAC performance..

Pretty damn surprising!!

https://www.rx8club.com.au/forum/vie...f=6&t=9476

1. 500hp is actually at the rears not the flywheel!
2. Kit is completely compatibly with S2 8's
3. They are installing the kit on an auto 8 right now
4. They have tuned a haltech for an S2 GT in the past and are using haltech for this set up
5. The price is 30k, with full rebuild included in the price, rebuild is basically strengthening all internals, custom fabricated apex seals used in PAC race cars tailored for the 8, etc..
6. Kit has and is still being used in 3 cars to date, one being mazda motorsports targa 8, which has still had no problems.
7. Rodney says "I can pretty much guarantee, that as long as nothing stupid (i.e running on low oil) happens to the car, you won't have any problems.

This will be the only renesis design engine that will produce 500whp.

I seem to remember Esmeril were saying they made 500whp at one stage but the engine blew on the dyno due to a lubrication issue . I suspect they also had the omp disconnected and thought premix would do the job.

Yes sir they certainly did.

They were using a top mount turbo and the manifold couldn't clear the omp, so they removed it.

I assume it works ok on Pport 13-b's due to the exhaust setup.

Exactly - the renesis corner seal passes over a narrow land that gets very hot . It needs concentrated lubrication to stop it wearing through in quick time. I lost an engine through this so I know only too well now .
