Thanks,

But right now the TSI unit does work flawlessly, and right now getting ahold of the austrailian made unit is extremely costly, it's over $1,000 for the unit, + Air Shipping from Australia + $200.

With the US $$$$$ BEING 30% STRONGER THAN THE AUSTRALIAN DOLLAR YOU ARE SAVING $$$$. so you should not complain.

Yeah that is true, and even though TSI's owners did part ways we do not have a problem acquiring this unit

It was the fuel management system you used... We aren't accepting your warrenty claims.
Unfortunately even if you buy the greddy turbo kit, and it comes pre-tuned you will not get a free engine from them if it happens to blow up.

But we do have a pre-tuned engine management system, it's just optional incase you want to run your own?

All we need is a willing california resident, or in the area, that wants a turbo system at a great price, installed and tuned.
... hmm... im listening...(orange county)

Well what about the lifetime of the Renesis with that kit on??
Also did you take it to track for some times????
If the renesis lifetime is not going under the 100000miles with this kit on,i ll start collecting money...Maybe i could sell my second vehicle...Hehehehe...I am seriously interested though so please answer

Also will it work with the greddy sp2 as a catback and the midp-4 from canzoomer with a 5' cat or i should get custom maded???i hate to sell parts that i love though...

nobody's really gonna know how long it lasts until they get some miles on them. of the stock renesis motors i've taken apart, the bearings and side seals seem to be taking quite a beating!

Side seals taking a beating?

Are you saying the engine isn't holding up well? Why were these engines disassembled? I sure hope I am misinterpreting what you mean by the bearings and side seals are taking quite a beating.

are there upgraded side seals and bearings that we can use in our motors? i know the archtechture is the same (minus the ports and intake runner etc etc) as the 13brew...so coudl we get some upgraded seals from atkins or someone like them....made out of ceramic perhaps?

i knwo we can get apex seals liek that but i'm not too sure about the side seals. and what kinda beatig are they taking? just curious b/c i plan on going FI in the near future...adn you are the first person i've come across who has taken apart some stooke 13b-msp's

I have seen some torn down motors personally, and via pictures. They are "taking a beating." Wether this effects the ability of the motor to survive past 100K miles is anyones guess... Just drive your 8 and find out. It leaves me wishing Mazda had a 100K/10year warranty though hahahaha.

The seals are totally different on the Renesis. At this time there are no direct aftermarket replacements for them.

Side seals???

All this recent info regarding the side seals taking a beating got me a little concerned. Judge Ito long ago spoke of this problem, and now here's two more people, plus pettit racing mentioned something of wear to the side seals. I did a little research today, but my resources for info are very limited.

I called Pettit and spoke to them about the wear points, they were not meaning to imply wear in a bad way. In fact Candy stated she has been trying to break her supercharged Renesis so she can find the weak links in the engine, but has not been able to. They claim to have beaten the hell out of their supercharged RX8, and then giving it to Road and Track (I think this is who she said) to beat it up some more.

I also called Racing Beat. They claim on the pre-production models their was a problem with the side seals being worn down pre-maturaly due to placement of the exhaust ports, but that they resolved it. They claim they have not seen any pre-mature wear on any engines they have disassembled. They also believe this engine should be at least as strong as the 13B

I spoke to SSR engineering to see if they had done any reliability testing. They had not, but had noted that they amount of detonation they exposed the engine to during their experimenting would have blown the 13B's seals to peices, but the Renesis didn't even flinch.

Also, Charles Hill provides a good example of the magnitude of abuse this engine can take.

So while there are some horror stories circulating, and some odd engine replacements going on, there is still hope that the Renesis is rock solid. I hope some others can shed some light on this matter because I am really hesistant now to drop 8 grand into a turbo when my engine might not make it to 30k miles.

If the engine blows, that's just an excuse to upgrade and get a streetport done. =)
