A-Spec Tuning turbo kit

www.a-spectuning.com

Looks like theyre new advertisers on the board.

The site says a turbo kit for the 8 is in progress. Anybody heard of this place and had any experiences with them. They look like mostly an RX-7.

Heres what the site says about the future RX-8 turbo set up.

A-Spec GT Dual Ball Bearing Kit for the Mazda RX-8

We will be soon coming out with a Mazda RX-8 turbo kit. We all know the RX-8 needs a little bit more torque, so we decided we will have our unique solution to that problem. A turbo is a great way to re-use the wasted energy that the rotary engine can produce during its many exhaust strokes. Our manifold design will take advantage of the unique characteristics the RX-8's exhaust ports. It will utilize the newest Garrett GT dual ballbearing turbo for fast spoolup and great top end. This turbo kit will be sold as complete packages with upgraded injectors, Tial Blow Off Valve, Bar & Plate Intercooler and EMS. Our fuel injection solution will convert your RX-8 to speed density for your primary load reference. We will use all the great materials, quality, engineering and service that has made our other kits such a great seller for us.

PRICE : TBA

Their shop is about 2 mi. from my house. I too am looking forward to seeing their kit. They are moving to a bigger shop in Schaumburg, IL this spring. The one they are in now is small for the amount of work they do. They also seem to be the primary sponsors of the Rotory Car Club of Chicago (RC3). They put on a barbecue this past fall, so they also give back to the community.
I don't know about their busness history (like how long they have been around) and I don't think they have offered anything I could use as of today.

...Turbro Kit made me laugh. A spell checker would be nice, but we can always rely on Z44 to correct us.

A-SPEC makes sweet setups, can't wait to see this one. I go to Chicago every other month. I'm going to stop in next month and quiz them. Aren't they close to Ohare Airport?

They are presently at the corner of Addison Rd & Fullerton Ave. in Addison, IL. That is about 15 mi. SW of O'Hare.

When one of yous stop by their shop, ask if they have any plans for an auto kit.
Yes I know "another guy with an auto asking for a turbo, why didn't you buy a manual?"

Thanks
Dave

A-spec makes great turbo kits for the RX-7 (as i have one myself). They're known for using high quality materials and Sean the owner gives great customer support as he actively helps out members on the other forum. Sean showed me the prototype and it's going to be a tubular manifold and a Garrett GT turbo. I just bought an RX8 a couple of months ago so I'm looking forward for the kit to come out!!

They may not have a price yet, but does anyone know when the expected release date is for this kit?

A-spec is the top notch shop in illinois, their rep in the Rx-7 community is great. I have E-mailed them about their kit b4 and i think they are tryen to get the turbo out by mid summer. I planned on stoping by their new shop, but never got around to it. i really wonder if they need a test car? :D

Never been to them for anything or seen their shop, but I have spoken to one of them over the phone twice. Steve was his name, as I recall, seemed very knowledgeable and was laid back. I could see why so many here in Chicago would be so inclined to give them a shot.
