Mounted in the "best" configuration is how I had my previous center mounted one and it worked well. I just went to a larger center BEHR cooler now. But I only have it center mounted because I have a secondary radiator where the stock passenger side oil was. If I had to do it all over (and I will eventually) I would run larger coolers in the stock locations and just get a proper bad *** radiator. Are you going to run the FAL dual fan shroud setup? Or on a track car I guess a proper large single FAL or SPAL fan would be best.

Hey, sorry I haven't read through the thread a lot but i wanna know where you got the front bumper port? I've been looking around but I've only found them for the 350/70.

Have you opened up the vents on the splash guards? Getting more air flow thru the coolers will help a bit. But yeah you probably want larger coolers.

And yes the splash guards are carved out and have lots of airflow with the new aero

Bit of disappointing news
I won't be able to use the 5.12 now
After looking at the gearing charts it's just not feasible and will limit my top speed without switching to a custom $20k transmission
So instead I'll just be swapping to the S2 diff which has the 4.77 and an upgraded casing
It will also be easier to find and replace if needed...hopefully the diff cooler will make it last

mazdatrix said the diff cooler did wonders for their track setup

BECAUSE RACECAR

On track it is very very hard to overcool the rear diff, they produce a ton of heat. Just have it wired to a switch and turn it on when you enter the track and shut it off when you park it in the paddock. The biggest danger is forgetting to turn it on, then remembering it midway through the session then turning it on because it will kill the pump. They can only handleup to a certain temperature of fluid.

Looks like Levi was in a huge hit at Road Atlanta, and it was in an 8, but I can't tell if it was the same 8 that he is building. Edit: It's not the same car...
Well I guess since I've told most of my loved ones personally, now I can say it publicly.
I had a crash at Road Atlanta Saturday night with 2 hours left in the enduro race.
Going down the back stretch we were 3 wide and I was in the middle. The inside car cut turn 9, went wide, and clipped my back right quarter. The car went into an uncontrollable slide and hit the wall driver's left almost head on at 115mph.
I am completely fine and no one else was involved. All the safety gear: Hans, racing seat, harness, etc did its job well and I walked away without a scratch.
The car was not so lucky...it's completely demolished. My deepest apologies to the team but, unfortunately there was just nothing I could do.

Got some of the rewiring done this weekend
Relocating the ECU, battery, and coils inside the help clean up the engine bay among other things
Got the new coilovers in...took it for a short drive without the cluster or LED info ribbon in and confirmed it is NOT in safe mode
