May be that the flat spot is bogging from being super-rich. I suspect I'm seeing a similar thing. As much as I can't get enough of that vtech kicking in when the APV opens, I'd rather just have solid WHP all the way through.

I'm pretty sure that's what is happening. AFR dives really low, bottoming out at 10.0 btriefly, so it's surely even lower than that. I'll keep working on it a little at a time but it's running pretty decent right now and I'm in no rush. Last time I blew the motor I was thinking to myself as I was pushing it to redline just before blowing "it's not worth it..." Ultimately it was worth it because it prompted me to do this build, but I'm about keeping it running now and having fun at meets and shows for awhile before I start taking risks again

I never did replace it. It stopped making the chattering sound after a couple drive cycles. I never had issue with it previously. I put my mighty-vac on it and it stays open just fine. But it could be the electronic valve that activates it I suppose...

Yeah, I know about P2070 SSV Stuck Open, is there one for stuck closed? I have not gotten any CELs. And I haven't had problems with it in the past, but I don't disagree that it wouldn't be something worth checking so I might do that at some point. In the meantime, things keep looking better as a lean it out. The flat area in the power graph is getting narrower. I really seem to be losing traction at the top end once the APV opens. It used to happen at much lower RPM. I think it has alot to do with adding the WI. I've really had to lean things out compared to previous, which kinda makes me nervous cuz what if it fails...

Yeah I wouldn't be tuning with the water injection, because that means your always going to need it for that tune. So if there is a failure in the WI your going to notice, good or bad you will notice it.
I bet you have more water then you need when WI first comes on causing the flat spot, then as the airflow increases the WI mixture is closer to the optimal amount

I'm running a 4gal/hr nozzle, which, if I understand correctly would be roughly 250cc/min, is that correct? Plus it's on a progressive controller starting at about 4psi and full on at 15psi.

I am still on stock coils. To clarify, I am not having any problems. No misfires or sputtering, etc. We have just been discussing the flat spot in my power graph. It is running really rich in that region and I have slowly been leaning it out. My thought is that adding the WI has made it run a tad richer, requiring me to lean it out, which so far has been having positive effect.

If you set apv to 5900-6000 then do logs in 2nd and third . If the flat spot is there in 2nd but gone in 3rd ............ then it's due to the APV timing and the fact you can't alter 2nd . Check out the log i posted earlier done in 2nd . No flat spot using M/E.
Suspect some of it is being rich but most due to APV timing.

Will give it a shot. Your 2'nd gear graph thru me for a loop. It read 406 HP but then I saw the gear selected was actually 1'st. I was thinking holy sheep!

This is the kind of tire spinning I am used to I have 10lbs of spring in, but with the MBC adjusted up to 13pi so boost comes on sooner to break those puppies loose!
