i don't think he searched on thing about the renesis motor or boosting them before he made this thread. there is a section on this forum dedicated to major horsepower upgrades..

Hmm- I beileve the general consensus is the stock motor won't be able to go above 300 whp on boost, am I right ? Well then I'll need some advice on building it then. Just a minor build, need no more than 400whp.
Some guy mentioned about PSI, I understand that 10 PSI of a t3 t4 is a lot less power compared to 10 PSI of a GT35 Which is why I mentioned the KIT (they have specific turbos)

Whats the maximum the stock block could handle, just btw ?

I believe the general consensus is that you have no idea how to search for the answers you seek. the answers are in this forum, but you just want to be spoon fed the answers.

hell im not even blown and ive done easily 20hours of reading forum members build threads and other relevant info

i suggest you do the same

Whoa, lots of hate in here :-).

400whp build have been done but they were either project cars or shop cars which don't live life as a street car.

There are numerous challenges with such a build. First, you're going to need a healthy motor which will mean you're going to want to rebuild your current engine. A lower compression motor won't make high power like what you're looking for. There are a lot of rebuild threads with a wide variety of builds. Some people do a factory build, and others waste tons of money on stuff that doesn't benefit them except pad their mod list.

Second, heat is going to be a problem. The RENESIS does suffer from heating issues and will require a radiator upgrade at the minimum with probably additional cooling being a requirement. There are lots of threads dealing with this problem.

Turbo sizing is going to be an issue because kits like the GReddy are low mount kits and are restricted by available real estate. You can't shove anything massive in there so you're looking at a top mount style kit. They have their pluses and minuses and there are quite a few threads about those kits and their reviews regarding vendors.

You'll have to obviously deal with tuning, ignition, exhaust etc. and there are tons of threads on those subjects as well.

There is no single off the shelf 400whp kit. You'll have to piece something together that has characteristics which the car requires.

Lots of self proclaimed "experts" around here, so do a fair amount of reading before taking advice.

oops - looks like I over-estimated this motor. I guess my integra was better off which made 403WHP on a stock block.
I guess i'll just stick to stock for now and maybe sell this and get an FD next year.

I'd still love to know the power numbers on those stock rx8's with Greddy kits.

All he needs are some Skunk2 cams and some spoon wheels.

BTW, I heard the turbo kit coming out next month by Se-Arch is the nuts.

403 on a 1.8L integra? You are trying to sell us that the stock internals were good for over 20psi? Good luck with your FD, just a shame you will ruin ones of those too i'm sure

I'm willing to bet it was some sort of setup with a high and low boost setting on a giant T3/T4 that spooled slow as hell. The 8 isn't meant to be a burnout machine.

No offense to you all but you guys really need to stop being under that 'rotor' stone and look around you. Go visit Honda-Tech and see the dyno charts there. Leave B18 (1.8L DOHC HONDA MOTOR), the 1.6L B16 on stock internals does 370WHP with 1 bar of GT35.

You probably shouldn't be upset at anyone but yourself that you failed to research before making a car purchase....

The problems with making power with the Renesis are well documented, meaning the challenges you will have to specifically address are well documented.

The internet was made for anonymous, angry people that can't locate the SHIFT key. 3 pedals all day.
