The road to DGGR..my Greddy Turbo build updated
So im at the point with the rx-8 where i decided its time to go FI comming from a modified subaru wrx i definitely felt the lack of power when i decided to purchase the rx-8 although it made up for it in many ways and i really enjoy driving this car the lack of go has always been there. With some encouragement from my local car guys (TNC) i decided lets go for it. So I have been piecing together parts for my turbo and some other mods for support so that I can go to Deals Gap Turbo charged. Below are my existing car mods and the parts yet to be installed..or even received.
Existing Mods
Car:2005 Mazda RX-8 WB Touring ~40,000 miles
Mazsport ignition solution
Agency Power frotn and rear Sways
AEM Cold Air Intake
Agency Power dual resonated catless mid pipe
Greddy Sp2 exhaust
Prosport Premium Oil Temp, Water Temp, Oil Pressure gauge in Lotek pod
Greddy Oil filter relocation kit with RB sandwich plate.
SR underdrive Pulleys
Greddy Front and rear strut bars
I also have some aesthetic pieces but those are of no real concern.
Mods waiting to be installed or on order
Upgraded GReddy Turbo kit with machined and clipped28g wheel, upgraded wastegate actuator by Atp, and large FMIC ( I figure when the greddy snail goes...Ill get the larger turbo offered by MM)
Racing Brake 13" BBK with open slotted two piece rotors and Hawk HPS pads
THMotorsports blue stainless steel brake lines
Mazmart upgraded radiator by ron davis
Mazmart upgraded water pump
Mazmart upgraded lower temp opening upgraded thermostat
Aem tru boost gauge/controller
Aem 1 gallon meth injection setup
Im missing a critical component EMS still trying to figure out what route im going not that their seem to be many choices. I also need an AFR gauge...thinking PLX or Innovative havent made the decision yet. Well so far this is my build...we shall see how this works out.

^ Brettus I agree.....It seems like a daunting task but hopefully it will work out. I have read your build several times as well as others its helping me prep for all the work to come.

^ I have oil temp, water temp, and oil pressure all prosport premium in my lotek pod. I just got the aem tru boost and weill not need an afr gauge but will also need a pod.
I was just thinking I wish turblown made a high mount for the greddy turbo with external wastgate and an accompanying downpipe..... seems like a good idea for those who want a good manifold less heat, a cool looking engine bay, a decent turbo because you could go with the bnr or fluid upgrade... the only thing you would have to do is figure out the intercooler piping... right?

so you know at what boost and what afr at the same time.....
there was one guy having the turbo relocated to the top mount, greddy turbo, but it needs some work, preety a lot of work....but about external wastegate, you have to get different turbo, i think because greddy didn't create this turbo to be more than 6 psi for stock Rx8....basically they just want to have little more power from the stock...that's alll...and we make it more PSI....
but yeah, get those a pillar, unless you have in your mind for another gauge to fill out one omore hole for the RB pod....
