I CAN say this much about PTP's kit; I was there when MM was tuning it last April and the car definitely hauled *** with Tommy, Jeff, and myself driving around in it. We all had a lot of fun that night.

Great looking kit and I'm thrilled to hear about R&D into Access Port compatibility.

For those of you that want to use the AP, the problem is that the intake piping shipped with this kit is 3". The OEM MAF housing is 3.5". You will need to try and come up with a way to fit a 3.5" MAF housing between the turbo inlet and the front of the engine bay. I was unable to do this and get a consistent reading across the MAF.

The other option is to change the intercooler and the charge pipes going from the turbo outlet to the intercooler. By re-routing them under the turbo and around the radiator you can free up enough room to run a full 3.5" intake all the way out of the engine bay. This would be my suggestion.

If PTP wants to fab up a fix for those of you that want this kit and the AccessPORT, I would be more than happy to test fit it on my car. But until that happens I am happy with my kit the way it is.

If PTP gets a reliable and well designed kit (which it looks to be) working with the AccessPORT, this would be a really sweet setup. It's been frustrating that there aren't many good turbocharger kit options that are 100% solutions. Definitely keeping an eye on this.

TDiddy what is the current status of your setup? Accessport + Interceptor-x? Good whp numbers? Is that the stock PTP intercooler (looks great)?

I took a quick peak at your turbo thread but didn't see a lot of updates. I was at the dyno-day last summer where MM, CRH, and yourself could not get it running well. Is Charles mistaken when he said yall had it all tuned and running great last April (I didn't move up north until May and I didn't think the car was running well until afterwards)??

Even sitting on the trailer that rx-8 looked incredible! It's a shame I didn't get to see it running.

IIRC, part of the issue with tdiddy's tune was the Mazsport Ignition Solution. However, Scott forwarded his preferred dwell settings (or Jeff figured it out, I am not quite sure) and once the tune was sorted out, the car ran pretty good. I also seem to recal that was with the Int-X but Tommy may have made changes since that was a year ago.

I thought it was a well put together kit when I saw it...if I had to pick a nagging criticism it would be the 38mm wastegate, but depending on your power goals that may or may not be an issue, and upgrading to say a 44mm wastegate shouldn't be a difficulty, imo.

My car is fine. Its just been put on hold for a little while. My wife and I recently had a 2nd child and I dont really have any time for the "toys" right now. Hell, I can hardly find the time to get online anymore.

I am running both the AP and the interceptor. Still have not gone to the dyno for hp #s. Its the PTP intercooler.

No, CRH is correct. MM and CRH came to my house the day after the dyno meet and we spent most of the day working on the car and the tune. By midnight we had it running pretty well. I am still running the same tune.

If I can ever quit coming up with little things I feel I need to do to it while I have it torn apart I will get it running again. Well, that and if I can find the time and money. For now, the car is in hibernation.

My major problem was with a vented radiator cap that wouldn't hold pressure so the car kept wanting to overheat. Once we fixed that we had it tuned in a couple of hours.

We also had to set the dwell, though. And yes, that was with the interceptor.

The point I was trying to make was that the kit is well-designed, runs good, and any issues were mere inconveniences and nothing related to the turbo kit.

bump this thread.. haha

I just spoke to joe at PTP, and he told me they're still trying to figure out how to get the Cobb to work with the kit, but haven't made too much progress. Absolutely love this turbo kit and the setup is very impressive. Nice work on your setup tdiddy!
