I hope to have it running next friday. Dyno has enough openings where we should be in relatively soon. We even have some race gas to see what it can really do..

blow-by is combustion air/gases escaping past the combustion seals into the crankcase
in a piston engine it would be the rings
the equivalent in a rotary engine would be the side seals, but on a rotary it can also occur with the apex seal from chamber to chamber.

Release the twins.
funny, Fd's go 400-600, and don't have the those problems... and don't give me that side exhaust ****.... he's running WI and should be able to keep the EGT well out of the danger zone that has caused so many side seal Spring failures.
Good luck Elliot, can't wait to see it running.

"W/M generally causes an FI Renesis to lose power and increase EGT."
"Even with the finest jets and latest turn-on times, power always dropped and EGT climbed."
"W/M in concentrations where it does not cause excessive EGT increases (near 50%), adds so much fuel value that it completely negates up to .06 lambda in the fueling calculations. This is not acceptable to me."
Most people are using water meth as a safety measure, in that case it increases EGT's. Yes, tuning for more power it will decrease EGT's I understand that. But most are not doing that, with this setup likely at 400+ whp tuning for more power with water meth IMO would be stupid and unreliable.

Yes. That's what I said from my first post.
My personal experience shows the numbers in that thread's first post to be an extreme exaggeration. While I don't agree with everything stated there, if leaving the EGT to increase (say 50%), then you're better off not using w/m. At 400 whp, additional heat will certainly cause failure. Making it even more of a ticking time bomb.
Back to the point of this thread.
Turblown, is this car setup with a return-style fuel system or is it left stock with just injector and fuel pump upgrades?

oem seals?
fresh built engine? Stud kit?
no omp--ok--what pre mix ratio is being used 1 1/2oz or 2 oz per gallon?
redline at 8K?
are you going to be running this set up with pump gas?
what life expectancy is being expected at this air flow level?
at 400rwhp is it time to start looking at a different intake design and a bigger throttle body?
Again at this power level should the motor mounts be looked at too? Should the engine have more support more toward the rear of the engine?
Sorry for all the questions!

No. Esmeril seals.

Chris of Esmeril built this engine. No stud kit.
no omp--ok--what pre mix ratio is being used 1 1/2oz or 2 oz per gallon?
I premixed 1 1/2 oz per gallon.

Probably keep it around 8500. No need to rev that high.
are you going to be running this set up with pump gas?
Yes. Run with either 92 or 93 octane gas that avail in my area. I also run with meth for safety.

I have turbo charged this engine for 3 years running at 8-10lbs of boost (Esmeril kit, but exhaust manifold cracked as Elliot has found) and vacuum still at -21 during idle. Never have detonations or close call in those 3 years. Don't know how long it will last really but I don't push my car when I drive. Engine probably have around 15K miles or less after it was rebuilt.

I am not planning on running high boost. 12 lbs at most but we may do 15 lbs pull just for the heck of it.

Stock motor mount with torque arm to help reduce engine movement. This is something I plan on upgrading in the future.
I have to say that after seeing all the work Elliot has done to my car this kit is a full custom kit. The price of the kit may seem a bit high compare to others but what you got is a very high quality kit that is hand made in the USA build by someone who understand rotary. Elliot is very easy to work with and always willing to answer my questions in a timely manner. I have great time working with him. I can't wait to see how it runs once everything is said and done.
