no its something else. When you replaced the coolant resevor I am suspecting that may have something to do with it.....maybe.
How is the lower radiator hose? Is it the oem one? Becareful in replacing that as if it is not made correctly it can collapse under suction and hurt the flow of your coolant.
Your radiator cap is ok?
Fans working ok?
50/50 coolant shouldnt be the issue at 80F ambient.

a 50/50 or even a 30/70 wouldn't cause the systems to overheat that quick in our current Temps.
I'm not saying it the thermo but they are easy to check in a pot of water on the stove with a thermometer.
Are you certain that the hose routes are correct? There are not easy to re-route, but maybe OD is on to something about thier condition.
If it's overheating at idle, did the coolant system get a good burping after its fill?

I bet you have air in the block.
part the car on a very slight hill, with the front a couple of inches higher than the rear.
There is a coolant line from the back, top, pasenger side of the motor, that connects to the front near the thermostat.
The line should be in two parts with a fitting in the middle, seperate the two sides and tie them vertical so air can escape, fill the coolant resovoir again, lower the two ends of the hose till the coolant starts flowing from both of the ends, then rejoin the two lines while they are flowing...

Havnt yet I parked it for tonight so frustrating and yes I read the pior post. Crazy things is that when I was drying I hit a turn which is kinda sloped downward the car went cool less than 4sec and tried running hot when it wa on a flat surface again
Update. Had my little brother take a look and my ride since he owned a 2nd gen at the time. Found two leaks at Hoses which caused the radiator hoses not to flow properly and collapse so pretty much the radiator hoses were not flowing properly thru the radiator. Can the car a little hard and no issues for now.
please explain to us how leaks are going to cause the main radiator hoses to collapse?
better yet, if you were having cooling system issues why weren't you addressing any leaks first rather than running out to buy a used surge tank from a Lincoln in the junkyard?
this is beyond fubar, sounds like another epic story directly out of the OD files ...

good luck with your car man,...dont give up..i feel how you feel, sometimes i just wanna trade my car in ..get rid of the headache, but if you have patience, you will be fine..

Agreed. The engine can be destroyed if its not done right. Are you dead positive its the front seal? I've never EVER had one leak on an engine we've rebuilt, and I've been doing them for over a decade. You don't by chance have the crankcase vent on the oil filler neck blocked off do you?
I researched the Hell out of this right. I checked and I thought it was my omp block off plate or the oil pan there sealed so I started the car and seen that it was coming from the seal.
I have the seal but I will have done probably sunday after I come back from California the car is just parked for now. I seen that its a two man job because I'm not trying to mess up a dam thing for a $13 seal.
I can say u do build good motors and soon as I can over come these issues I can be able to get what I need done to move forword

the question is whether it is as simple as just changing the seal (which is not really that simple to do right) or if there is something else going on that caused it to leak and will again ...
Yeah I know Team I'm going to have my bro take the pulley off to get a closer look at it. Because I rather no perform open heart surgery on a car if it really doesn't need to be done.
they dont look to be getting very exited with the porting ... thats little more than what id call a clean up
but if your turboing it you dont really wanna change the timeing too much i guess ... you not considered a bridge port?
