Yeah but an RSX-S is FWD so who cares?

no way is that conversion cheaper, gotta pay someone to do the work, plus import shipping cost for a engine thats close to $4000 to begin with.

Honestly, why the hell would anyone buy an RSX now. The old Integra is better in every regard unless you're a badge *****
Double wishbone FTW! Ever see the BMI with the old type-R (integra) vs the new Type-R (RSX). The competition was so close they couldn't declare a winner...yet one of the cars was a significantly older design....

Marketing/Advertising likes to brainwash everyone into thinking newer is better. It's not necessarily better, its just newer. Many older model cars are far far far superior to newer arrivals. The old toyota corolla was actually RWD!!!

There were always standalone options, but that was very costly. The FD was released late '92, that's a long long time for the market to really ramp up and get going. I expect the RX-8 ramp up time due to small production numbers to be no different, and three years later here we are. I have no doubt Pettit, Axial, Performance Design, and Mazsport will all come to market. And SFR, GReddy and PTP (or you can put down a deposit anyway) already exist, as does Blitz. By my count that's 8 options for a car that isn't exactly a best seller.
You're comparing 10-15 years ago to today though. Nowadays cars that are going to have a decent aftermarket have turbokits, exhausts, you name it, being developed before the cars are even released tin all markets. It's never going to be a big aftermarket for the RX-8, not enough owners are interested in modding their cars to justify the R&D costs for most companies. Again, I'm not saying there won't be more options coming out, just saying if the RX-8 was going to have a big aftermarket it would have happened by now.

Just ask Crossbow, I think I said the same thing to the Mazda 6 guys a few years ago.

And like clockwork, almost every 2-3 months, somebody starts another tuning post about how some cool company is going to make a reflasher, a chip, some sort of piggy back...yadda yadda...we'll finally have full tuning!!!

The 2007 Mazda6 is about to come out...and guess what? Still just A/F tuning . At least you guys have the interceptor!

Exactly, anyone that think's they're getting a 20b conversion done properly for under 15k is on crack (Puerto Ricans owning their own rotary shop excluded).

Sadly the interceptor 2-3 times as much as similar products for other cars that are just as good or better.

I agree. I think for our market, those listed 8 options is going to be a lot. This isn't a Mustang or a Vette where market demand is sky high.

A friend of mine has a Solstice, and they already have a pretty decent turbo kit available with a full flash already. Ah...to drive a domestic and be spoiled.

Where would you need over 350whp? Unless you race at Road America(longest straight in the US) you probably won't need that much. The car is already really quick in the corners and there are quite a few parts to make it corner even faster/better. If you street race or wangan you will need all kinds of money to be even remotely competative. If you want to get to 350hp just be prepared to spend lots of money doing it. Time + Money = whatever hp you want

Well, not exactly. 1.3/2.0 = .65 means the 2.0 liter engine is 65% bigger.

(100% bigger would mean 1.3 liters again means 2.6 liters. 150% bigger would then mean 3.25 liters)

...and I correct myself. Not 65% bigger, 65% the size of the 2.0. It is 53.8% bigger. I'll let you figure that one out.

.
^^ agreed, the aftermarket lineup was twice as big as big for the LSX engines before any of them were really released. I agree that the rx8 is still young, so it may take a little more time, but really, 4 years now and theres only what? one header out? getting a little tiresom

Thank you, Shinka-Dono, for the explanation.
