That might be difficult...

Do some research, maybe there's a badass model of car coming out in 2009 that she might want to postpone getting a car now for.

Fortunately for me I covered that base a little over a year ago when I bought my wife a Mazda5. So when Pettit came around and was offering the free installs this past April, it was almost as if SHE was the one who got it for me.

Ahh destiny.

Speaking of future model Friday night I met the Sales manager for a Mazda dealer down here. He told me the the rumor is that they are bringing back the RX7 with a 20b with a 20b hybrid option. It is expected to be in the $60,000 range.

He drove a speed6 with Mazdaspeed6 with upgrades. He was also mentioning how it is the fastest out of the current Mazda line. If anything when more aftermarket support comes out for the Speed3 then it may take the crown.

The straw that broke the camel's back was when he said he liked watching RX8 owners faces after frinedly competion and him walking them. I said that is because you haven't ran into any 8 drivers that can drive.

I went on to mention times referenced by magazines and the different in wieghts. He was chuckeling saying yeah on paper the RX8 is suppossed to be faster.

He mentioned on most ocassions it wasn't fair because his car was modded. In my mind yes he is taking the bait. I said I have a slighty modded 8. He said I know you are not insinuating what I think your insinuating. I said yes I am.

His friend asked him are you going to ask him what mods he has. He said they didn't matter. He had the exhaust, intake, downpipe,FMIC,and CPE ECU.

He asked me if I was till interested. I said yeah. He said he would be nice and would agree to a roll. I said I didn't care that was fine.

40 roll it was all Zoom Zoom Zoom. He was surprised (hahahahaha) we did it again. Same result the 8 not walking him but jogging him.

He was upset and asked for a dig. I said fine he took about a car off the line(they are awd). But the lead was short lived. Tried again I got a much better launch he only got off a car. For maybe 2-3 seconds then he was watching Zoom Zoom Zoom.

Afterwards he was like that is the fastest 8 I have ever seen. I went ahead to mention it was still the the begginig phase of what the Pettit shop is doing. As soon as i said Pettit he was like oh DAMN say no more. I showed him the setup he loved it.

His friend the reason they went to the meet was like damn. I bought the wrong car he had just purchased the speed6 a month ago. He was at the meet to see what others had done to their speed6s and Speed3s.

Just thought you guys might enjoy the story.

Discalimer I know it was wrong. Don't try this at home. It was late night on a rural highway at 12:30am. He was bashing the RX8. I had to do it. I know it was childish. I apologize to anyone who my story offended.

The only thing missing from that story was how you hustled him out of his cash.

That brings back memories of my youth. Late night runs, deserted roads. Course there was less traffic back then. Understand your position that night. I probably would have done the same.
JFYI we regularly (when NA) would leave the mazda 6 on a road course--no problems. They are too heavy--dont brake well after 2-3 laps.
