I ran over a gator one time on a honda 450cc motorcycle while riding from paris island S.c. to my hometown of macon ga. Years ago! Scared the hell out of me.
cant even imagine hitting one with the 8---guess you could have some spagetti gator that night!

The RX-8 alone made me feel like I was 30 (that's like losing 25 years). You guys are killing me! Denny, look forward to seeing and riding with you today. I will bring a video camera and post a vid here. May go to Barber Motorsport Park tomorrow to watch and ride with TrackAddict and Phlash. Can't wait to see you at Road Atlanta.

I used to have a RP supercat but I sold it right before I got the SC. If I new it was going to make such a difference w/ the SC, I would have kept it. I got rid of it because it wasn't worth only getting 2/3 hp out of it like I was n/a. Right now, i'm running the stock cat w/ Racing Beat exhaust. I'll probably buy another HF Cat after Xmas.

OSCD, it was a pleasure seeing you again today. Thanks for the rides and the entertainment at dinner. It's always a blast with the gang. I have video and will post as soon as I can get it edited.
The pull the car has at 45 mph in 5th gear was incredible. The lack of high RPM sound was also a pleasure. I think the fun now is in the lower RPM as apposed to what I'm familiar with... post 6k RPM. That means learning to drive the 8 all over again. After riding with you I got in my car and it just seemed to be sluggish.
You bastid! Now I have to start planning my strategy. Maybe by this time next year I will have one. I expect Will to be next in line with Wess close behind if he can scrape up the bucks.

There was a 10'er dead in the middle of the highway near my house, couldnt imagine hitting that beast in anything short of a tank, even a major 4wd would have damage of some kind. Id rather hit a big fat dear.
in the Marine Corps at the time---so it was pleasure? I had just returned from overseas and it was a temp duty station before i went tdy with the Dept of State in Jamaica . there about 6 mos.
Silver wasnt driving yall--car still has base map and we had 4 people in the car. if he could have been the driver much more would have been noticed! Plus we where on a 35mph road

About the cat--if you dont mind doing a little work the stock cat can be modified and basically be a high performance one. You will not lose any weight though.
I wonder what would happen if i put my midpipe on with the base map? Sure is running rich now and getting only about 14-15 mpg on the interstate.
Had to watch my speed ---really easy to go faster than the law allows. 100mph is nothing in this car now.
Intercooler is impressive---just a little warm to the touch after a 100 mile 80mph drive.
