You know, I just saw someone do this today, and I totally agree. My only concern (without being next to the car) is how do I remove it from around the brake booster? I hate to just shred the stuff to take it off. I'd want to remove it as a panel.

i just ripped it out and trashed it. not sure how to get it out in one piece without gutting the bay

PLEASE HELP!
I cannot for the life of me figure out what some of these holes in the Pettit castings are for.
First, there is one on the long intake pipe just past the throttle body connection. My pipe has a brass insert there. Maybe its a barb that was threaded in and broke off? What should this be and what gets hooked up here?
Second, the back side of the Pettit UIM has two threaded holes right in the area where all 4 runners separate (sorry, no pic of the back right now). What goes here? The manual says something about routing one vacuum line there, so I'll need one barbed fitting, but what is the other threaded hole for?
I need to buy fittings and hook things up, I just have no idea what goes in each one of these. I also have gauges I need to install and these holes may be convenient for those.
YOUR HELP IS APPRECIATED or I may never drive my car again!!!

I think there was a bolt or a plastic push pin holding parts of it down but it comes out in a few minutes. Way easier than you would think

Thanks Keck. Would've never figured out it was the brake booster.
What do you have running to the back side of the Pettit UIM? Like opposite the Pettit logo in your second picture. I'll have to get a picture later to help explain.

Oh and the brake booster line is T-ed. I am not sure if you can see it in the pic

Thanks Jimmy. I already had that and all it shows is one vac line going there and doesn't show what it attaches to. Obviously a barb somewhere. What's the second hole for? All I can figure is the original kit's temp sensor. I have an odd brass fitting with two barbs on it that also fits the large hole, but there is no mention of this fitting in the manual and no lines shown to hook to it.
Hybrid Greddy Boosted
The instructions show a vac line from the vac chamber to the manifold nipple (page 13). When you're not in boost, the vac line puts the chamber under vacuum to feed the 3 black solenoids. The check valve stops the vac chamber losing vacuum while you're under boost. As there's no explicit mention of any use for the second manifold nipple, you can either block it off, or use it for boost gauge, MAP sensor, BOV, etc. Anything you connect to the manifold nipple should be happy to see both boost and vacuum. If you're connecting something that doesn't want to see boost, put it behind a check valve (e.g. a T between the check valve and the vac chamber).
The one is capped. The other leads into a vacuum line behind the bypass valve. But there is a rats nest of vacuum lines there. I’ll pull the bypass valve off and try to trace them

Hey Keck, that's all I needed to see, no need to tear everything apart. I'll let you know if I have more trouble.
My kit came with this weird fitting that fits where your plug is, but I couldn't figure out what to hook it to.

I'm also wondering what everyone has done with the "purge hose" shown in red at the top of this diagram. Originally, it's the hose in the second picture that has fuel line type clips on the ends. It clips to the "fuel return line" (I know it doesn't return) and to the plastic UIM. Well, now it needs to hook to the PCV directly, not through the UIM, and the PCV doesn't have the same size connection. So what do I do, just use a 1/4" hose? The thing is, the PCV has a 1/4" connection and the return line is 5/16". I guess a 1/4" hose will stretch but is this the intent here?

The purge line goes into that small reservoir that opens into the UIM when the purge solenoid is activated by the ECU. If you want to prevent a CEL you need to have the solenoid wired and the purge line connected to the manifold in some way so that when it opens it vents the purge system into the intake
Or you can just plug it off at the firewall and ignire the CEL 😉

Thanks dannobre, but we eliminate the plastic UIM with this kit. I know where to hook the line from the PCV to the intake, but my concern is the other connection on the PCV. It normally goes from the UIM (a 5/16 connection) to the "fuel return line" (which is also a 5/16 connection). The trouble is, by eliminating the UIM and going direct to the PCV, the PCV has only a 1/4 connection which also isn't the fuel line clip connector style. How do I hook this up? A 1/4 rubber hose? This isn't clear in the Pettit instruction manual.
My other vacuum that was run out of the intake runner ran to a T split. It looked like one line ran to a clear line for a boost/vacuum signal. I didnt see where the other one went. I was waiting to pull the bypass valve to double check.

I'm going to run a catch can (actually got an air oil separator), but that intercepts the line from the oil neck to the intake (to vent the "crank case" pressure).
The line I'm talking about goes from the purge control valve (little valve in my second image above) to the fuel return line. This doesn't go to the catch can at all. This line comes from the hard lines under the brake booster to the plastic UIM on a stock setup.
