get some 2" ID silicone turbo hose, cut the length you need, make one slit along the full length, then slide it on in the proper spot and cinch into place with a pair of cable ties, repeat where necessary

 

Thanks TeamRX8, I already did that. Though there are improvements; that turbo hose is quite hard. It is not doing too good of a job absorbing the vibration.
I wonder if there is any kind of foamy high temp rubber or something...?

 

you can try sheets of sponge rubber material (try www.mcmastercarr.com), but it will likely compress under the force it's generally heat limited too

In case you are not sure what the question is, I explain:
I was experimenting with my tune, and made the changes where the secondary injectors start participating at 3000 rpm.
That caused the turbine to begin building the insane amounts of boost while revving in Neutral (which is not something that happens usually).
With my regular tune, I can rev the engine all the way to redline in Neutral, and there will be very little, or no boost.
Though I have some Ideas; I was asking about the reason why people think this might happen under the condition.

I believe this is because of all the extra fuel that is being dumped into the engine.
It increases the overall density of exhaust. But why so drastically?
why Int-x makes secondaries spray so much fuel in this case?

Getting back to the new pressure pipe...
It is made of a whole stretch of pipe, going from the back all the way to the front.
I am thinking that because it is so long and rigit, it's length attibutes to increased vibration. the stream of air causes it to resonate.
I wonder if I slice it in a couple of places and then reconect the pieces with silicone couplers, would that hepl break up the noise?
Theoretically the couplers should absorb the vibration and not pass it to the rest of the pipe...

Did it.
Cut the pipe in 2 places, and reconnected.
I was absolutely correct. The cabin noise is gone!

The things to do that remain:
1. Rework the exhaust: 2.5" pipe with small resonator and a single tip.
2. Install the external waistgate
3. Fuel System Upgrade.

After that the boost goes up to 12# and (wife permits) a trip to the dyno.

not familiar with your laptop, but try the printscreen key. then open paint and paste. save a jpeg, and i am sure you got a thumb drive or disk or something to transfer it to your pc you get online with

To get the screen captures I need to go a bit out of the way.
I wanted to do it earlier, but stumbled into a somewhat of a problem:
I use a 7 year old Dell Inspiron laptop to do my tuning, and that thing has no built in network card.
It has a removable wireless card in it, but a few months ago, my wife spilled some orange juice onto the thing, and now it doesnt work.
I remember I had the network card for a laptop somewhere, But I just can't find it. Until I do, I am afraid there will be no screen captures.

 

Time for another post:

Changed the past turbo exhaust configuration:
Now it is a straight pipe from the turbo into the passenger side exhaust tip, the driver side tip is left as a dummy.

I thought of getting a shop to do this for me with a resonator, but the quote i got kind of turned me off from that idea.

My whole intake pipe running from the turbo all the way to the cooler cost me less than that, so after all the procrastination, I had decided to do it myself.

Saturday I cut down and removed the old parts and pieced together a prototype, and on Sunday, I had fitted and welded it all together.

I was kinda worried that it will make more noise, but no.
the sound is actually better. A bit quieter and sharper, than what it was with my old configuration with well pronounced sound of turbo spool. you can actually hear those blades ripping through passing exhaust gas

Throttle response has seemingly improved.
I haven't had a chance to really test it out, but from a short drive that I gave it seems that the overall drivability has gotten better.
I will post more feedback tomorrow or later as I get more feel on it.

Update:
Driving it for 2 days convinced me that a resonator is a MUST have in this case. I am installing it Friday. Anything under load after 3K (meaning boost) is simply ear popping. Cruising is real nice and quiet though, so if I stay out of boost and not push it too much...

The car feels much more powerful while not in boost.
Spool comes real early. I haven't exactly clocked it, but it makes pressure quite quickly.
The torque when not in boost has improved big time. The car just pools. I guess the faster spool helps, as it pushes more air into the intake though the pressure is not yet positive.

Also I finally bought a wideband with an electronic gauge from NGK. Should be receiving it this week. can't wait.

Update:
Installed a nice 2.5"X12" resonator into the pipe ^^ today.
It got so nice and quiet... I simply love it. Now it is a very pleasant car to drive.
I already forgot how nice it is to drive a quiet car.

Updates:
I installed my O2 sensor.
Finally I can tune basing on some real data, instead of how it sounds like and let me tell ya:
Given the fact that over the past few month I got pretty familiar with the main functions of the Int-X after about 20 minutes, I got her running so well, it really blows my hair back.
Though she is still a bit on a rich on the boost side, at 11 or so (was closer to 9 before) at 8 psi, the car is so fast it is unbelievable.

I tuned it to cruise around 14.8 - 15.5
WOT (vacuum) - around 13
Boost: 10.9 - 12

God damn I had no idea she can be so much fun

Good news Vlad. Now you now why your milage was so bad. Rember what I told you about keeping the timming retarded while you tune. If it goes a little lean you wont ping. Bring your A/F to 12.5 under boost and try not to go leaner then 13. When you get that stable then you can advance your timming with only slight chancges to A/F. In any VAC your safe at 15 A/F and your going to save lots of gas. In vac im running 15 to 16 and getting 200 miles per tank.

 

That is what I am aiming at.
It runs way too lean, at high RPM under boost. I added some fuel there, so we'll see.
Also I cant get the boost under control When at WOT.
No matter what I do it spikes up now that the flow from the turbo has increased and it spools better.
I tried to rewire the boost controller differently, and tried to completely unhooking it, to keep the damn thing at just the min PSI that waistgate allows, but keeps on making boost.
