Mazfix RX8 Turbo Upgrade - Dyno Video

We have just uploaded some video footage of the ‘MAZFIX’ Mazda RX8 fitted with our Turbo Upgrade Kit being put through its paces on the Dyno. During this run the car went on to make 209kw at the wheels which equals 281hp at and wheels. This graph was done using 98 octane BP Ultimate Pump Fuel and running 8psi of boost through a stock factory Engine.

We have been selling this kit in australia for the past 3-4 years. all of the details are up on our website. If we get enough interest we would do up a supply only kit available for export.

lol I love this part: (http://www.mazfix.com.au/?page_id=913)
Fuel economy similar to factory, unless using boost.

280.2 HP, actually, which is about 320 or so at the flywheel.
But who is counting...

They are only claiming a "massive" 200kW on the site (268 hp).

get your numbers right first .
Not being able to convert kw to hp (not to mention the grossly exaggerated flywheel hp) is not a good start whether it is just an unfortunate mistake or you actually think you might dupe a few dumbasses .....

I particularly like the "upgraded" ignition coils:

The "Mazda Factory ECU / Computer Retuning" via the Apexi turbo timer is particularly amazing.

sorry there was an error in a conversion, video has been re-edited and is reloading as we speak . . . .

As far as the flywheel horsepower goes, that figure is calculated on our new Dyno Dynamics Chassis Dyno.

You "calculated" that value on a chassis dyno?
That is quite a calculation.
Did you mean to say you have a Dyno Dynamics Engine Dyno?

If so, what was the condition of the test?
Musta been pretty scary, losing 150 HP at the drivetrain and all...

Word of the day: unboltable

As in their turbo kit is completely "unboltable". I love learning new words.

200kw is what we advertise as a minimum power figure for the upgrade.

there is a function on all new shoot out accredited dyno dynamics chassis dynos that allows you to convert to a approximate flywheel reading.

all listed prices are in Australian Dollars, current exchange rate is 0.87 US Cents to an Australian Dollar so roughly USD$9135 but bare in mind that is a drive in drive out price, and a supply only price would be much cheaper.

These are not a stock coil, they are aftermarket upgrades that are a direct replacement for the mazda standard factory units.

welcome to the bitchfight Archie.

I've met Archie and the boys from Mazfix a number of times. They're decent people who look after their customers and have been consistent supporters of the Aussie RX8 community with part-sponsorship of National track day events and the like. They also walk the walk, regularly tracking their turboed cars and matching them against other modified cars. They're not regular forum contributors because they're too busy working on cars, etc.

I don't have a problem with anyone requiring errors to be corrected/explained, etc (especially when someone is seeking a commercial gain) and I know Archie can look after himself just fine but I find the bitchy and negative comments to be just plain embarrassing. We should all be encouraging additional aftermarket vendors to contribute to this forum - the competition and alternative R&D work they provide is usually of benefit. Keep them honest by all means (and hammer the crooks) but some courtesy and manners wouldn't go astray guys.

Btw, I note that (as edited) Mazfix has restricted his post to factual material and not the hard sell that other vendors sometimes indulge in.

My 2 cents. Flame me all you like because I couldn't give a crap.
