MAF maxed at 5volts? Lets fix that!

i remember doing this mod to my 8 many years ago. I bought it as a "chip" but it was nothing more than a resistor in a box.
I spliced it into the output voltage on the maf. I found that it richened the entire curve. A bit of power was found when I stepped on it from the mid range. The question I have Harlan, is now that I'm going FI and using the Cobb to tune, is it still advantageous to use it. Or is the Cobb (atr) able to mimic this mod?

Not the same thing .
Get rid of it . It was a bad idea for an NA car and an even worse one for FI .

Ic. I took it out long time ago I also had a pot in between to find that sweet spot but ended up chasing my tail and removed it.

That is because the ECU has a learning function (Long and short term fuel trims) and will override whatever you try and do.

I know this is an old thread but I started playing with this... Brettus - in your testing did you get any trouble codes? I used a MAF extension harness so I can swap in and out. Prior to adding the resistors for the voltage divider network the extension worked without triggering any codes. After adding the resistors and modifying the MAF sensor calibration the car starts and idles fine, with idle airflow looking good, but I get a P0335 Crank Angle Sensor Malfunction. If I clear the code it just comes back. If I remove the extension harness with the voltage divider the code does not come back. Not sure if this is a difference in model years, mine being an '06, or something else...

EDIT - N/M, seems that the first two cells being off limits means literally off limits. I had kept the first two cell values the same in my spreadsheet but just the act of writing the same values seems to upset the ECU...

Yeah, I saw it . Maybe there was an extra decimal point not displayed somehow................
