And no issues I take it? What turbo do you have? What were you boosting during the trip?

I have always found that driving faster pushes more air through the radiator.

I recently did a 3,000 mile round trip drive to my parent's house on my turbocharged TDI. It's a VNT turbo 49.5 mpg with pulse and glide.

Anyway, I vote this is the most useless post in the thread.

My longest, nearly continuous road trip while boosted was over 8100 miles.

Phoenix => DC => Phoenix.
Two drivers with a 5 hour stop in OKC and a 1/2 day layover in Annapolis.

Its a custom kit...look through Major Horsepower Upgrades under "Another Top Mount"

Elliot (Turblown Eng) and Jeff (MM) worked on it. One of our main goals was alot of usable power WITH reliability. Road trip home was a pretty good test of both.

How is your car running? What were your thoughts on how the car felt after you got the install and tune? I had a shop in town install and tune mine, but looking back, I wish I had Jeff do it. It runs pretty good, but I think it could be even better.

Did the shop get help?
The stuff they sent over to me to review was not usable as it stood.
I tried to help Chris out as best as I could, but there were quite a few conceptual barriers that we needed to get past before I could even begin to coach him.

They did actually get the tune down pretty good. I went in yesterday and Chris made a couple small tweaks and the car runs awesome except for one small thing: when I am cruising, say at 4k rpm and I push the clutch in when the rpms drop to idle the car will die about every other time. Other than that, it runs very smooth now and under boost it feels sweet. I think it was an adjustment to the MAF scaling that caused this. Also, it idles at about 12.5-13 AFRs. I don't think it should idle that rich, but he said he had to do it that way, I forget why. Do you think I need a 2nd air straightener in my MAF housing?

Thanks again for all your help so far, Jeff. I still may have you re-tune this when I have money again!

Oh boy.
They did this by cheating - you are in forced open-loop. Good luck with that.

I've done 2700 miles at 23psi, in a well over 400rwhp rx7. Car was not babied either. Build it right, it will do it.

Does this mean they set the load to 0 for open loop to turn on at idle like that? If that's how they did that, then I can just change the value to 50 or so, right? Otherwise, I should be sitting in the 14s, right?
