Line to wastegate
so I just replaced the turbo on my car and in the process lost the place where I had my wastegate vacuum line ran to. since that port is no more it leaves me wondering where to get its vacuum/boost signal from. I have my microtech and boost gauge plumbed into where the VFAD was so I do not want to splice into there again. Was thinking of using one of the extra ports on the ,BHR spacer but then it would be after the throttle body. Not sure if that would be ok or not. What's everyone's suggestions on where to go with the line? Thanks in advance guys

Correct. The old turbo had a post right on the housing ... this one does not so that's why I am searching a little.. I only have about eight inches of pipe before the intercooler. Was not wanting to tap anything but I can if I must. So install a port in the piping is my best bet then?

Now its just finding a fitting to use. I may just re use the fitting off the old turbo and tap the housing. not wanting to remove the turbo again though. don't see any decent quick tap type fittings that don't look cheap

I will most likely try tapping a spare piece of piping i have laying around and see how well it works and if it would hold. That is going to be my first bet anyway. Beyond that i believe it would be taping the turbo it self. This is what i am workin with. Dont have much piping or couplers to work with close to the turbo.

Ah man, takin that turbo out would be a 10 minute job...
I have done this with a nipple that I tapped into alum. I ground the back of this off to turn it into a nut to back up the self tapping nipple. I did it on a VAC only pipe and it was a temporary fix. Then I braised it to keep it from coming out and getting sucked into the turbo. Like I said it was a temp fix until I could get it to a welder to put a proper nipple on.

Yeah, i am concerned about the nut coming off the inside and causing damage, however, the kit came with three ports already tapped into the aluminum. If it worked originally you would think it would work again.
Yeha the turbo is easy to get to but its a really tight fit with the manifold and downpipe. Takes a bit to get everything all re-aligned. However its still an option if i need to.
