Look man, things of this nature have been discussed a lot. Use Google search, by going "site:RX8Club.com - Powered by vBulletin and what you want to search. It's been done, but it's expensive, and not an easy project.
I think the guys are just pointing out the ridiculousness of this question, sure it can most likely be done but the fabrication and cost associated will far outweigh the reward. Many post like this exist and cloud the good information out there.
Poke around read some info, no need to start bizarre threads. Swaps are few and far between as many don't get completed, and the ones that do cost a good buck, and besides if your going to go through all that trouble why do it with a 5.3???? Best thing to do here is just let this thread die.
Cheers

Been done, look it up. What did you expect a bunch of people spoon feeding you or coming here to praise your idea?

The vultures ate this carcass quickly. In case you are visually impaired, there is someone trying this a mere 2 threads below yours and is already $15k in the hole 3 months later. I hope there is a lot of change in your couch cushions.
Im a rotary enthusiast,
any transplant you want to do other than a rotary im going to automatically hate
the LS swap has been done, it was expensive, and you ruin the near perfect weight distribution we have,
Let me google that for you

Interesting… but why stop there? What else can you do to compromise the excellence of an RX-8?

My buddy did it in his series 2 miata and after having it corner balanced he ended up 51/49 which was the same as stock.
It actually doesn't ruin the weight distribution. There is a guy in iceland I think who did the swap and if I remember correctly his car ended up 52/48 front/rear.

my mate has a 20b rx7 and he noticed it was more front heavy
your trying to tell me that replacing a 250lb MSP and throwing a 450lb LS motor in doesnt affect weight distribution in a negative way? (and the LS won't sit as far back as a Renny too)
Its gonna be front heavy, PROVE me otherwise, with numbers and tests, not cuz some dude in iceland said so.
u wot mate?

I don't know how to PROVE you otherwise other than using info that I've found from reading another guys build of an LS powered car since I myself do not own a LS RX8. This is why I referred to the guy in Iceland that did the build and had the car weighed. I didn't find the original build thread but here's a link to a summary of his build.
Mazda RX-8 with LS1 Power | Engine Swap Depot
This is also why I referred to my friends LS1 Miata at a balance of 51/49, now I know comparing a Miata to an RX8 is apples to oranges but so is comparing a 20b RX7 to either a LS RX7 or RX8.
I would love to see someone on the forum complete this build and hopefully the BH Factory that's doing the build in the other thread does a good job and we can get some of these questions answered.
I'm willing to bet you will be surprised at how well the LS will work with the RX8 chassis, again I'm basing this assumption on the different LS Miatas that I have seen or driven.

you asked for our thoughts, here they are.
if u do a ls swap, good luck with your build, make a thread for it
while i may hate piston swaps in rx's, i admire the time and effort that goes into them
I actually never asked for anyone's thoughts. I'm not the original poster.
I'm actually considering going FI myself and have been doing nothing but reading all the countless build threads on this forum but I wouldn't rule out doing the LS swap.
To each there own.

The real secret is to swap in a V12 Merlin engine.
