Both LIM plugs are capped off.

My cursory look over the way the vacuum lines are run seem right also but I can't trace the ones from the turbo / wastegate without getting the car up on ramps.

OK -good .

I just looked at you logs from the above post . One thing that stands out is the way the fuel trims are all over the place like a mad womans lipstick .

-4 at cruise
-7 under boost
+17% at idle

That plus the very rich AFRs,high MAF numbers , high boost and low whp seem to indicate a serious boost/vacuum leak post turbo .......

Thinking aloud here - the fact that idle fuel trim is so far off may suggest that the leak is post throttle plate ....

Has the upper intake manifold been removed at all ?

Also : have a look to see if the jet air hose has blown off where it connects to the lower inlet manifold or under the air pump valve .... These pressurised hoses (that used to be just vacuum hoses) should all be secured by zipties BTW .

I removed the UIM when I upgraded my P2s and had my injectors sent off to be cleaned. I have a strong suspicion that it is something post throttle body since I have had a loud whining noise coming from that area for a long while, probably before the turbo install since I installed the injectors in anticipation of the turbo install.

Also according to the boost gauge which is plumbed into the UIM VAFD connection it would seem more likely the leak is somewhere after that.

With rubber cement on the outside of the nipple, before pressing on the hose....

I took off my UIM today and replaced all the vacuum hoses under there with new ones, zip tied every connection, and reconnecting the VDI (I had previously capped it off on both ends but later learned from Jeff he disables it through the tune). The caps on the VDI were definitely cracked but otherwise everything looked ok. I traced the jet air hose back as far as I could and found that just after it passes behind the alternator Dave at Speed1 connected it to a steel braided hose for the remainder of the run. I couldn't actually see the point where it connects to the LIM but I doubt it is an issue.

I took things slowly from no boost controller up to my normal duty cycle with a spotter watching my AFRs and I am still pegged at 10 at WOT above 4500rpm and I definitely didn't pick up any significant amount of power. I still have the damn whine which is coming from under the UIM area. The whine doesn't actually start until I get above probably 4000rpm for the first time. If I drive very slowly at first or let the car idle for a prolonged period of time before driving it the sound will not manifest. You can hear it much louder in the area where the injectors are and not as much if listening in from the header side, under the car, or the coil side.

So, you are gonna have a friend sit in your engine bay with a spray bottle of soapy water while you drive around the neighborhood doing WOT pulls?

At this point I think I may just bite the bullet and find a shop with a smoke machine which pressurizes the entire intake to 14psi or so to aid in finding this leak.

Yeah, the best/easiest way is to pull the air filter and cap it with a storm drain cap.
Then, you pressurize the system through a vacuum nipple and listen for leaks.

Only on leaks that make themselves apparent at 1 psi or less.

I've found a couple of fairly substantial leaks that only popped up past 9 PSI.

Based on the responses here I will fill my UIM with tomato basil and then suck it out the filter side. Thanks guys!

The stock setup is :
intake - to rubber hose - to steel pipe (behind and below the thermostat) - to a short rubber hose (maybe 3" long tops) - to Jet air connection on LIM .

Have they removed the steel pipe ?

You can just reach that short hose going to the jet air connection (between and below the two capped nipples on the LIM)if your hands aren't too big and give it a pull to see if it's connected.

My setup is the stock hose but coming off the pre-throttle body IC pipe which runs behind the alternator and a few inches past it on the other side it connects to a steel braided hose. I shoved my hand down as far as it could go to reach to the LIM and tugged on the hose a bit near where it goes between the two nipples and the connection seems firm.
