Innovate WBO2/cat/exhaust questions
If you had an Int-X as your management, you can remove the stock sensor and instead put your own into the stock bung. I have mine there for a year already with no issues.

IF you're that worried, build a custom straight pipe (no cat) and place the O2 bung further away and build the heat sink for the sensor. The Distance should bring down the temps that hit the sensor a bit, and the heat sink should help with that as well.
Because mine is in place where the stock one should be.
A place specifically designed for it, starting from a location to the angle and so on.
and it is not sitting in the neck of the cat where temps reach 1800 F and the sensor is directly exposed to the gases as they just come out of the header but further down, in the wide section of it. Other than that, I have no clue, but it lives.

as stati said that was my point. Didnt mean to be confusing. If the oem sensor doesnt burn up why should Innovates? proper mounting is important--you are correct in that and smart for asking questions when you dont understand or suspect something. I had a question also one time about pre mix and wide bands. But end story was if the oems can take it then so should Innovates.
One thing you can do to reduce back pressure(higher egt's) a little is to take the 2nd brick out of the cat. That will help it run a little cooler.
Enjoy your kit man!

take it off and take the rear o2 sensor out and look down in it. The part of the cat that is behind the rear o2 sensor can be taken out. A little labor is involved with various stuff to knock that brick out piece by piece. Do search. If you do this wear a mask--there is dust and this stuff you do not want to breath in..
