Wow I didn't mean to start any confusion. It is very possible that I don't know what I'm talking about.
Edited by me in order to get back on topic.
So far your SC looks nice, but it also looks pretty big, have you measured the underhood requirements to see how well it fits? :D

Hymee : A thought: When I start my car and the AC is still engaged, the car has to crank much longer and feels as if it won't start. If the AC button is not engaged that RX-8 fires right up. I always try to remember to turn the AC off before I turn the car off.
How much harder will it be for the engine to start with the supercharger strapped to it? Need more powerful starter?

Your car shouldn't do that. I'm pretty sure this car, like most every other car, cuts out the compressor during cranking. It should have no effect at all.
As for the SC...I have no idea.

Yeah! An Update! (At last)
I'm trying to have a break for a few days with my family...
But some prototype parts for the supercharger project were ready, so I took a short break from my break to bring you these piccies as a new years gift!
"Snorkel" to direct boosted charge - sits on top of (discharge) blower.
Throttle Body adaptor plate. Sits on back (intake) of blower. Also note bypass valve fitted. Retains "Drive By Wire" throttle body assy.
Side on view, showing blower positioning. Black elbow feeding TB is temporary.
Rear 3/4 view showing adaptor plate mounted with TB attached, and discharge snorkel in position. Start counting the 20B engines in the background.
Right hand side view of engine. More plumbing required between discharge and intake runners. Intercooler needs to also be plumbed into here as well. Also note headers! These headers have run a 13.0 on an aspirated renesis (no Nos).
Front quarter view sowing overall layout. Pulleys shown to give the idea. Production unit will most probably use poly-ribbed belts.
Close-up of discharge port of blower.
Enjoy!!!
Cheers,
Hymee.

Our biggest challange now is to fit the intercooler in.
And I think I need to get a better name for the "snorkel". Sounds like something from a fair-dinkum 4WD fitted out for creek crossings.
Cheers,
Hymee.

So it was a 13.0 second Renesis, just not in an RX-8 But it was a worthwhile line to drop in there to generate some interest :D

Hymee.
