My 'plot thickens' comment was intended to egg on the people here who are overly-obsessed with what turbo Jeff uses.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming...

It's the same thing only different - he leaves the markings on saying it's one thing when it is in fact another ...

Maybe I'm obsessed with how things work and why they perform the way they do - when the information conflicts I want to know why .

Actually, wouldn't that be: I own an RX-8 - f**k it's awesome. Oh wait - It's actually a Ferrari with an RX-8 badge on . Oh well - I'll still tell everyone I own an RX-8.

Wouldn't it be completely possible that MM sells a 3071, and has a 3076 on his personal car? He presents data for a 3071 cause as a vendor thats what he sells\supplies etc.

yet for personal use, he has a 3076?
I see absolutely nothing wrong with that, if it is in fact the case, cause what he does with his car is his business.

Kinda like the smart drug dealers that know better than to use their own product, so they sell it. In his case he's using a higher cut coke

Edit. now that there is another thread, im gonna post this here as well, but I'll leave this here for those who haven't seen the new thread yet.

O_O only 3 days, I consider that pretty good for taking time, I was considering taking two weeks vacation to drive down to az to get you to do a rebuild.

Kane and I drove the car to the shipping yard and it ran pretty well considering the fuel injectors need to be scaled and a new tune needs to be done. There were some strange noises at first but on cold-starts it fires right up and purrs like a kitten. No oil or coolant leaks and only minor fuel seepage from a pressure gauge fitting but we took care of that.

We ran the engine several times from cold to hot (enough to cycle the cooling fans a few times).

Kane also got a BHR Stage 2 (Kevlar disc) clutch while I was building the engine and I am one more clutch install away from bringing the BHR/SPEC clutches back to the market with 100% confidence. A young guy who had never driven an RX-8, much less one with a lightweight clutch assembly, had no problem driving Kane's car the other night. Kane also drove his car as if he had the new clutch installed a long time ago. Silky-smooth engagement and light pedal pressure. A very nice set-up. I will be installing a Stage 2+ in my own car soon, just for fun.

There were several people, some of whom do not even own RX-8s, that helped out and Kane will know all their names. Most noteworthy to me were Andy and Richard. Those guys (besides Bobby, Kane, and myself) got their hands quite dirty with the installation and they are really good guys to work with on this kinda stuff.

For those of you who thought we took too long to do the installation; it has already been video-documented that I am as bad-*** a mechanic around here as you will find when it is necessary. Try single-handedly removing, rebuilding (with custom-clearanced side seals), and reinstalling an F/I engine just like Kane's in 3 days by yourselves. I did it in 95-degree heat and 95-100% humidity in FL. The reason we took our time with Kane's installation is simply because we could and we had plenty of help available so there was no need to kill ourselves. We were in HI, fer cryin' out loud (and I STILL would not smile until I was satisfied with that engine)! Kane's objective was to have his car delivered to the shipping dock on 11/16 and that is exactly what we did. There were moments when Kane was about to lose faith but he can tell those parts of the story.........

I thought 3 days was fast as hell; considering we all got the eat, drink and be merry and still get 8 hours of sleep a night.

I'm sure I can come up with some kind of good event to mark that occasion.

I should add - this new motor wants boost; it craves it..... with no BC I had to WORK to keep it out of boost while driving; and even then it spooled on me once or twice - for a motor that draws 20" of vacuum - it is kind of unnerving watch it go to 3" at 2000 RPMs and less than 1/3 throttle.

Drifters paradise---can you drift a 6by?

I have seen a v/8 stuffed into an old style jeep. Course the Marines were always a little different.

I am tired of it - but they call 'em orders not requests for a reason.

Last time I TC-ed a Land Cruiser; and then DA actually made up a new rule just for me..... no more vehicles from DRMO!!!! HAHAHA
