H2 is probably the turbo series. H2A/B/C/D have different options - vband, clamp plate, etc. 18.5 cm seems to be the turbine housing side. The other numbers probably have to do with casting batches so not important. Google seems to think Holsets are used on diesels a lot.

They are used on Cummins diesels from the factory. Cummins makes Holset. Since diesels are used in all sorts of applications (industrial machinery, farm equipment, passenger trucks, 18 wheelers, etc), there's a huge variety of Holsets.

if this turbo in question has an 18.5 cm^2 turbine housing it may be an H1E/HX40 class turbo.

see this thread: http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=782980 and this one http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=809766

A number of Rx-7's run various Holset turbos.

^^ you have determined the specs on this turbo right? you may want to consider doing that before you get premature... a poorly sized turbo can ruin an otherwise excellent kit

I just did a little poking around. Those supposedly come in a few different variations. Perhaps if you could post some pics with a measuring tape held up to the different wheels some of our Turbo gurus could offer better insight.

There are posts of pistons engines making just over 400hp on them but with very peaky power. Usually turbo numbers dont translate well between Piston engines and our rotories though. My turbo for instance is supposedly good for over 500HP on a piston engine.... but can only make a hair over 400 in a 13b with a good setup.
