Brettus got a question for you about the e-manage. Is it actually neccessary? I do have a cobb ap brand new, waiting for me to get back to....grr I hate deployment! A mere 10 weeks and I will be enjoying a cold brew in my frigid garage while I install my turbo.. Ok back on topic, sorry about the rant. I um...right, e-manage (had to re-read I was on a tangent). I am not getting it with my kit (bought used) and was wondering if you could offer up your opinion. And milk out a few more posts to get you to 10k faster, and so I can see more of your avatar.

I bought the ap while out here so i have no gotten a chance to use it yet, is it really that good?
And as far as the EMU...not getting it, dont have it, and would prefer not to spend money on it if the AP will handle all my needs equally as well.

Got a sick deal on a greddy kit on here, no emu included. I friggin love this club!
The guy had an external wastegate welded on and threw an hks ssqv on it....pretty sure I will revert back to the internal wastegate.

Just realised something . 10k posts will mean I'll be responsible for 20,000 individual breasts .

Saw that . Yeah , I really don't think there is any need for an external watsegate with the Greddy kit . You just need to know how to massage the internal one to get what you want from the kit.

20,000 breasts is a lot of responsibility for one man in the rx8 forums... perhaps we could share the burden, or the breasts, whichever way you prefer to look at it.

I was thinking of going w/m until I read the post about it...I am not trying to push very much boost so I think it would be a waste of money to make that insurance policy. However, I am very concerned about the health of my little wankel. Will my corner/apex seals stand up to the boost abuse? Is there anything I can do to increase the odds for survival? I am extremely afraid of detonation. It is coming for me, and when it gets here, I want to be ready. I have a feeling I have less to worry about because I am merely trying to juice it for 260-280 rwhp. I figure for a DD this is a reasonable number.

*Be very careful while tuning that you don't run lean
*Run conservative boost levels
*Run it on the rich side - low to mid 11s
*Get the BHR fuel pump upgrade and test before boosting with it on.
*Don't get a boost controller
*Use the BUR9EQP plugs
*don't think about breasts while doing install
There is no sure fire way to prevent an event - you are doing a major modification and bad stuff can happen very easily . All you can do is minimise the possibility.

*Make sure your ignition system is up to scratch (if you don't want to splash out on better coils get high quality leads as a minimum)

conservative boost level would be?
BHR fuel pump - looking into it
boost controller seems unneccessary
plugs, ok got it
and finally, I refuse to stop thinking about breasts during install!

The stock wastegate setup will give you 5psi - hold that to redline you should make 250whp . Still a nice kick but you can get away with a number of 'events' at that level .
Great for faster spoolup but too much of a temptation . And you would be surprised what you can do with an extra spring and some adjustment of the wastegate ....

If I was gunna make it home this weekend i'd have posted some results with the boost controller - I have to get my intake welded up first. (By welded up, I mean the MAF sensor mount)

I jst need a big set of ta ta's...that would fix all of my cooling issues, prevent detonation, and give me a couple hundred extra hp. They would also double as air bags!

the best thing would be if the compressor housing didn't have that mounting flange. if it were just round, you could mount a 90 degree silicone elbow and be good.
