Newb Turbo

I tried and tried looking for the threads. So far nothing. So maybe the hardcore O.G. RX-8 people might help me out a bit. Here it goes...Don't laugh. LOL.
1. Bolt on turbo kits- When it says pre-tuned or pre-programmed, does that mean you put it on, then drive away? Plug and Play means, plug and and TUNE????
2. Do you have to add more oil? What kind? Ours takes 5-30W. How about with a little synthetic? Would that hurt the Turbo?
3. I know BOVs doesn't come with the GReddy kit, but other that a BOV, what other accessories do I need? Turbo Timer, Boost Controller worth it? I heard some you do and some you don't.
4. A bigger exhaust. The mid-pipe plus the cat back? I thought they were together. Or is it Mid-pipe then Cat back then exhaust muffler????
5. It seems unessessary to an novice like me when it comes to turbos, but what about one of those Air Fuel Controller things???
Well that's pretty much everything. Thanks guys. Just to let you know that I am in the Army and I am currently in Iraq. I ask because I'm so isolated here, with no one with turbo knowledge here. So I come here. Thanks again.
-6 Shooter.
p.s
I want to kill SRT4s, Hondas, especially ECLIPSEs!!!! STIs and EVOs are the ones who I want to take. S2000 too.

OMFG. You searched for those absolutely basic and oft-repeated stuff and couldn't find answers at all?
I'll refer you to the post above yours. Then, try the first few in this very thread.
Then, go buy yourself Viper and leave it alone because you are not ready to make the intellectual investment in the RX-8 needed to compete with your laundry list.

You, sir, are an ***.
Even if you were enjoined in such a battle, you have no right to invoke its reverence for your own defense.

Search. I'd gladly give you links (the answers you want are in this very thread), but you don't deserve them. I've already put enough work in providing the information there.

Maybe, if I'm lucky, you might die in "vein" while you figure out the keyboard well enough to use the search feature properly.

Just in case this wasn't clear - **** off. How dare you.

This is one of the few times I've ever actually become angry reading a post.
I've often feigned anger or vitriol of one sort or another for effect, but that post actually pissed me off.

sorry

I realized what I had just said and I truly take all that back. I did not mean to offend anyone at all. I am truly deeply sorry for what I said. If I could go back and delete the comment, I would. Is there anyway that I can make it up to the guys I had offened? If you want me to delete my account, I will. Once again I am truly sorry. -6

Hmm

Blow off valve and boost gauge as minimums. An oil catch can is suggested since the crankcase becomes pressurized and will eject some oil into the intake without one.

My question having torn a Rotary Engine down before is this:

Is the Oil Catch really necessary on this engine? The oil is contained in the oilpan and is pumped through the engine (Essentric shaft, rotors, etc.) and also purposfully injected into each router housing to lubricate the rotors via Oil Injectors. There is NO crankcase as in respecs to a traditional piston engine.

I defiantely agree with the need for a blow off valve and boost gauge as minimums!

I have not installed one and I do not have oil in the intake,My theory is oil gets in there when people add oil in the fill pipe at too fast a rate--oil backs up in the fill pipe and floods the rubber hose directly to the intake

Thanks

Thanks for the input. I am not as smart as most of you all, but I have quite a bit of hands on experience with the Wankel Engine and catch on pretty quick!

Peace Out!

JET-AIR LINE- To the airfilter - where is this line at???

I figured out most of the vacume hoses that connect to the greddy turbo intake pipe
three of them all fit in
1. oil filler
2. metering oil nozzle
3. to the intake manifold?

but where the hell does the jet-air mixture line THAT GOES INTO THE AIRFILTER (AIRLYNX) come from?
please help, need pics

First of all, crop that screenshot - we don't need acres of unused desktop.

Second, does this answer the question?

Cool Thanks! ..
So....
There is a total of 4 inlets for hoses
1. Air intake (Airlynx) -- Jet fuel hose (found it)
2. Oil Metering (bottom, shortest one right?) GOES TO FRONT OF S-1 PIPE (WHERE 2 INLETS ARE) furthest away from the throttle body
3. Oil Filler from near the oil cap (goes next to the other inlet in front right??)
4. WHAT ABOUT THE INLET/OUTLET CLOSEST TO THE THROTTLE BODY (S-1) on the UNDERSIDE? what goes there?
thanks again!

alright, the install is done, but I came across a major problem and cannot figure it out. All three lines are connected properly, jet-air hose to the back of the pipe, metering oil hose & oil filler hose to the 2 front nipples on that same pipe.

RPMs will not rise above 3k. MPH won't go faster than 20 mph
new o2 sensor, and I believe that everything is connected back to the upper extension manifold (black piece connected to the throttle body that i removed to place the blocking plate)

I tried unplugging the emanage, and puting it back, same problem.

1. Is the fuel line on the driver's side at all connected to that upper extension manifold??
2. isn't the VFAD line (connected VFAD actuator) removed and replaced by the greddy sensor that goes to the Emanage

thanks!
