heh - you aint kidding . I have only done it once with the engine in place .
Easy when engine is out and you fit it on before fitting the engine .

seriously, it is! So much for the manual. Ok, so I understand you put the pipe in last, but even so, how do you manage to torque it properly? I can only tighten the thing with my fingers.... Looks like I'm going to have to deal with an exhaust leak otherwise

you should be able to tighten everything with a standard wrench just takes a while because of the limited space

I told you about using capscrews - only way to go ....
Also , you know why there is a slotted hole on the return pipe flange don't you ?

sounds like he is having trouble with the 4 bolts from the turbo to the manifold if he is talking about a exhaust leak

hey i have a question for you guys. i have BNR turbo upgrade. I just had a profesional installed my turbo kit. At the end he said there is a coolant leak from the turbo. Other words, he said the turbo had a flaw. I'm sure anybody can chime in on this. Especially anybody who has BNR turbo upgrade on their car. Gregs?

i think your the first member to have a concern with a coolant leak at the turbo, i would make sure they are checking the fittings on the turbo are tight..i cant see the turbo leaking from anywhere else

if the coolant fittings are not tightend properly you will get a leak at the turbo..i would have them remove the fittings and retighten them

as long as you stay out of boost pressures you should be fine for quite a while, just to be sure you can post in MM tuning thread so he can confirm

Just to clarify, I installed this kit and the turbo is leaking coolant at the freeze plug/ cap on the turbo. NOT the coolant nipples where you attach the lines. I will have to re-seal it when I take it back off...I should have checked the turbo before I put it on, I should not have assumed it was just fine and dandy when shipped.

The center section has a freeze plug?
That'll last long...

Ah. I understand. What's it for? Any reason not to weld it shut?

just additional openings on that housing..welding it shut would be the best option

they are not usable being they would point in the direction of the turbo manifold..

My bad, I should have said bolt plug and not freeze plug like they use on engines.

Anyways, I am taking the turbo off on Monday and sending it back to BNR.

I really like the fitment of the kit, I took pictures of every step and I will make a thread on it. I did the AEM intake upgrade, BHR coils, AEM boost controller/gauge install and modified the factory airbox to be used. I like the AEM intake, I made it work by cutting the pipe that goes through the front that the filter sits on. I then put the hump hose on that and put the short pipe with a screen at each end onto that with the maf pipe after that. I did cut a little off the maf pipe to get more room. The whole set up came out nice and I took pics of every step of that and how much I cut off on each pipe. I did cut the wire loom open and pulled the MAF harness wires out and towards the front of the car. I rewrapped the harness and routed the MAF harness under the plastic housing and it goes to the AEM intake just fine.

I did not have to bend or modify any pipe and I did not have to zip tie the coolant line to the bracket, I was still able to use the hose clamp fitting.

Since I did take a picture of every step, I will make a step by step report on how I did it with pictures for each step.

Ben

hi,

maybe you have already answer this, but here it goes:

I got the greddy turbo kit, bnr upgrade, 650cc rc injectors, walbro fuel pump and de-cat exhaust. how much boost can I get from the turbo and how much boost can the engine handle?

*if my English is not correct it's because it's not my native language

thanks

/\ that is an impossible question .
If you put it all together without modifying the wastegate actuator you will make 6-7 psi up top which is plenty while you are sorting out your tune . Don't worry about making big power till you have ironed out all the little issues you are bound to have .

The little round thing bolted to the side of the turbo . Leave it alone till your tune is sorted though .
