I'm just bitter because my rx8 is flooded. That was supposed to be fixed with the M-flash. Oh well there. I have no money so i'll have to tow it to the dealer next week.

12:1 is about right for 10:1 compresson with 6psi, but it really depends on how well the intercooler is functioning, the heat range of the plugs, and the ignition timing.
In all honesty I would do all testing at 11.5:1 then once I got everything steady I'd bring it up to about 11.8.
I'm not a fan of boosting high compression engines though. Not to mention hi compression engines with square combustion chambers.

We're more interested in TRACK TIMES - and the fact of the matter is, the best I've seen a twin-turbo Z put down is a 12.8 - why? Because it has poor traction, **** balance, is heavy, and launches like ****.
I see mid 12s easy from a properly tuned RX-8 with enough boost, and far less horsepower than the Z.

Where did you see a turbo 8 go 12.5? What was the mph? What was the 60'?

I think it makes a for a fine, nimble grocery getter.A 12 secong car without major engine work is not happening.Emmissions have ruined the rotary im sorry to say and without further R&D money "not just mazda cash either"will die a painful death.

i dont think tuning the rx8 to 11.0 a/f's will be easy since the ecu throws codes running rich at 12.0's... the elctronics on this car are retarded, you get a code for anything that might alter the stock emissions.

Just like with the FD RX-7 parts for the 8 are going to be slow to the market because it requires exclusive development for a single platform that doesn't have a huge share of the aftermarket community.

Does anyone want to take a stab at why I have had such an easy time with my car?
Why 11.5:1 A/F doesn't "throw a code"?
Why "reputable" companies have had their "kits" in the R&D stage for over a year while I built mine on the floor of a townhouse garage in less than a month?
Why people have ridden along in my car and noticed, quite quickly I might add, that mine is faster and smoother than the parts hangers at some well-known "tuner" shops?
I read tirades like the ones above and I have to chuckle.
I'm no Judge Ito. My stuff is all out there for everyone to see and take as they see fit. I give away my knowledge (acquired the hard way - by experimentation) for free and only Greddy seems to understand it.
Are you all just skimming, or is all my pontificating on the merits of tuning a turbocharged RX-8 just falling on deaf ears?
