That'll be tougher. You'll have to clean the crap out of the bottom ends of those since they're still in the car if I presume correctly. Once you take things apart, it'll be wet with oil. The gearbox will be the worst giving the thickness of gear oils. But, the process will work. That Right Stuff sealant is extremely, extremely, extremely tough. I love it. It's hard to get off after it's set plus you can put whatever you're working on immediately back into service instead of having to wait 24 hours or overnight or whatever for it to cure.

Yeah; but my options are limited - no matter what I do; I gotta re-seal it with the motor in the car.

But I trust this more than gaskets; one false move on install and they leak; then you have to replace it.... try that about 2-3 times and it loses its fun factor.

Yep I know exactly whatcha mean, Sgt. I trust this stuff. I started using it about 3 yrs ago per a suggestion and I've not used anything else since. It's terrific.

"Permatex The Right Stuff" used to be called Hylomar, back when it was developed for Rolls-Royce.

It's a polyol ester, impervious to oil and gas even at high temps.

How far back are you talkin' bout, Stealth? I used the old Hylomar (the tacky, gorgeous ocean-blue stuff) before this recent formula change a couple years back. I started using it in around '97 or so. AFAIK, it's different than The Right Stuff. Right Stuff looks alot like the black sealant windshield replacement guys use.
