After doing some reading I have one main unanswered question in my head when it comes to FI tuning. How can you tune the A/F properly?

If you use a FI which increases the airflow 3 times, does the MAF automatically understand this huge increase in airflow and adjust fuel accordingly?

If not, how can you tune? Just run the car silly rich and then slowly decrease the amount of fuel until you reach your target a/f?

Well, sometimes you'll overwhelm the MAF and have to switch to a MAP setup

Usually, you put bigass injectors in, run rich, and keep leaning to an acceptable level.

Hello all,

I recently bought a Greddy T618Z for my 2007 Mazda RX-8 and had a few questions that I was hoping could be answered.

1- Is a blo off valvue used in this set up? if so where does it connect because i have no pipeing that has a outlet for it.

2- What type of blow off valve is reccommended?

I am looking to install this turbo myself with the help of other knowledgeable people that work on the RX8 but they are not available until sunday and i wanted to know what i needed to buy to prep the install. Any help and advice on what else i need to buy to prevent damage and make install easier would be greatly appreciated.

Thomas

sometimes it does - depends on the BOV .

favoured BOVs around here is Greddy typr rs , HKS ssqv , synchronic from synapse but I use a tuned turbo xs which works just fine as well

Here is my advice on what you need to do :

1/ read the Greddy fixes thread : sticky at top of major mod forum
2/read the Greddy FAQ thread : sticky at top of major mod forum
3/read my thread https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-major-horsepower-upgrades-93/getting-most-out-your-greddy-turbo-without-breaking-bank-172542/
4/start your own turbo install thread and ask questions as you go

do enough reading and you will figure out :
that you should get the accessport and toss the emanage
that you should replace all the couplers and hose clips (depending on how old your kit is)
that you should upgrade the turbo before you fit it
that you should upgrade the intake before you fit it
other stuff that i have forgotten

Or you could just slap it all on and eventually find out for yourself the hard way
