Greddy T, Interceptor, 6000 rpm probs?

Hello, I can't figure out what is going on and thought maybe some of you guys and gals could help out, I have the greddy turbo kit, just bought an interceptor X, and just installed a new engine. Anyway car is running alot better than it did with the emanage, but at around 6k rpm the car pretty much falls on its face, almost like hitting a rev limiter if it is under any kind of throttle load. if i just take it up to that rpm with very little throttle, it will pass 6k rpm with no problem, but after about 6500 rpm, i can again hit the gas and it will boost and pull hard to redline, weird huh? I though maybe i had accidentally swapped an injector plug in, but checked it with the wire diagram. everything seems to be working fine, i have the nipple for boost installed on my turbo outlet pipe and am running 6-4 psi. I am going to probably hook up my emange tommorow and if it works then maybe i have a problem with the interceptor. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I am going to give scott a call tommorow.

Thanks in advance,
Jesse

There could be a lot of reasons for this. Do you have the Data Cable connection for the interceptor? If so, can you post a log from one of the runs where your car "falls on its face".

From what i'm thinking it maybe... it might be a very easy fix. There are a few warning settings that will cause the interceptor to essentially cut all fueling. It might be one of those is set incorrectly, or your car is going bazurko at 6k rpm which is causing the interceptor to recognize this and save you.

Blah, BLah BLha, nonehteless just post the log. No point in really guessing when the data is available.

Jesse, please call me tomorrow with the Interceptor-X connected and I will be happy to go over a few things with you. Does sound like a boost cut though. 1-800-538-9989 Scott

you need to connect the pressure sensor hose to the VAFD nipple just behind and below the throttle body...not at the compressor housing, that's only for the wastegate. that wont fix your problem though, assuming you're at WOT.

The pressure hose is connected correctly to that nipple. I was refering to the wastegate actuator being connected to the pressure pipe coming off the the compressor side of the turbo, like in the definitive greddy turbo fixes.

thanks again,
Jesse

something's going on with your boost and the microtech is probably trying to decide whether or not to stage.

boost leak, bad turbo, etc....

apv

Hello again, thank you to those who responded, a special thanks to scott he helped me eliminate a couple of factors, the ssv and the vdi are working fine, I believe it is the apv motor, I am going to take it off and try to test it and possible lock the gear on the intake open to see if that is the issue. There is some boost leaking from the vdi but thats not the 6k issue, I'll post again when i have the solution, thanks again

Problem Found

Hello, I finally found the problem, the SSV would only partial open, I locked it open with a zip tie and its accelerating good now. Are there any side effects to leaving it locked open?

thanks again,
Jesse
