Greddy Profec E-01 and Access Port

Well it's time to get that Greddy Turbo kit installed. I'm planning on getting the BHR ignition and an access port.

I was looking at the Greddy Profec E-01 and wanted to know if that will work with the Access Port.

I really don't want to use an Emangle after reading all the horror stories with that system.

Also, with the access port could I get the car dyno tuned? I really need my car back on the road as soon as possible and can not wait to recieve the tunes from Mazda Maniac.

Thanks

EDIT: Mods if you could move this to the engine tuning forum that would be great. sorry for putting it in the wrong section

you can tune how ever you like. if you choose to have MM do it, realize that you can drive the car anytime you want. you just may not be going into boost in a huge hurry.

i you choose to have someone else tune it, you better be damn sure they know what they are doing, there are VERY few who do.

The Greddy E-01 is very similar to the Profec Spec II in terms of its actual boost control. The only differences are

1) a "self learn" mode where you put in the target boost and the EBC will learn the proper settings. Rarely does this work right.

2) the ability to make some boost control duty cycle compensations based on rpm

the other features such as the display and datalogging will not be very useful for you because you will already have the AP to display data directly from the ECU. it will just add to the "science experiment" look of your interior.

Well to be honest thats why I want it. It looks cool lol. As long as it will function as a boost controller I'm content with that.

I actually know a shop called JPRimports. They specialize in rotaries. I know a few people that had work done there and they do a really good job. Is the Interceptor a good choice for an ecu? I plan ono upgrading the turbo in the future to a custom kit. I just wanted to install the greddy to start out.

if he has a software which you can buy it from cobb, he will tune it by using your laptop......i don't know how much it cost you if you buy it from cobb, but KDR tunes with cobb

The GReddy E-01 has no interface with the Cobb AccessPORT. You can use any EMS/Boost Controller you want.

Why wouldn't the E-01 work? The E-01 is a standalone boost controller, remember.

Having used my E-01, don't bother with the "self learn" mode. It doesn't work very long.

Read Kane's "How to tune your electronic boost controller" thread, it works.
