Greddy Oil Pan On (differences).....
Just put my Greddy oil pan on this past week and switched from Royal Purple 5w20 to 5w30. On driving back & looking at my EGT's it is a good 30-40 degrees F cooler than before. Didn't think it would make much/if any difference, but it did. I'm pretty surprised, I guess the extra .5 Quart of oil and/or the aluminum design makes a bit of difference.
Great information. I installed an oil cooler that added 1.25 quarts and started using Royal Purple 5W20. I don't have any temp gages installed, so I don't have any before and after data, but I like what yours shows!
I honestly am not sure if it is the new oil weight, or the fact that the pan allows slightly more oil, or the fact that the pan is made of thicker grade aluminum (vs. thin steel). My EGT gauge is in farenheit so it is shows a bit more latitude/range (in terms of showing temp changes) then celsius. Just letting people know what I saw. I have driven it about 5X since I had the pan installed & I swear each time it is running just a bit cooler.

I have a question guys.
I never really pay attention to the oil pan until now ....
Is it possible to install this pan myself? I already got the fumoto valve, so I dont think I need another drain bolt ....
So I can just buy this pan, unbolt the old one, put this new one on(I assume it has all the gasket I need?) , put the oil level sensor, bolt and fumoto valve and Im set ?

i had oil temp gauge before & after i had greddy oil pan. i personally didn't notice any noticeable drop in hot cali summer. perhaps if it's cooler, it'd make some difference.
i spend fair amount of time looking at all the gauges regularly when driving... so i think it's a relatively reliable subjective opinion.
