NC greddy idle problems

alright guys, i just had my engine rebuilt and had a new greddy turbo-kit installed recently in 04 6MT. Currently i am running the greddy e-management ultimate for the time being, until i'm able to afford a cobb AP from MM. And the only modifications i have besides the greddy kit, is the agency exhaust and midpipe. As of now the car runs good while driving but at a stop light or stop sign my idle is starting to fluctuate between 800-1200 rpms. i figured by resetting the ECU as well as doing the "break pedal" trick it will clear this problem. However i was wrong.

i had some codes pulled from autozone and i'm getting a p0172 and a p2097, bascially saying that im running rich. i'm trying to get this resolved ASAP, if you guys are familar with this i would appericate some help. also i would like to add, i have new plugs and reused my coils and cables which are only 2000 miles old.

there could be quite a bit of issues, my recommendation is:
1: Cobb AP and a professional tune
2: proper intake (proper sized maf housing)
3: quality bov (recir'd)

The base map for the Greddy Emanage is no where near perfect.

Do you know if MM still offers the AP?
what do you recommend for an intake?
i'm going to roll with the greddy BOV asap, but do you know if it can be recir'd?

but whats crazy is i before i did all the resets, i got 3 different codes. p0301, p0300, and p0172

- Yes MM still offers the Cobb AP. In fact he is the only certified reseller of the Cobb AP.
- Either get a custom intake made to the exact specs we need or buy a AEM/MS intake and modify it.

Get rid of the greddy intake asap. Luke the others said, a proper intake and a screen in the intake pre MAF will help.

bov is a big deal that i overlooked. i actually ran my greddy with the greddy intake, it works for some and not for others. but those 3 things are most likely your issues

Go by this checklist. I'm running the greddy kit and have learned what works and What doesn't.

Get rid of greddy couplers for new silicone ones. I have some for sale if u want them. Vibrant is good.
Get BOV and recirculate.
Install check valve into jet air hose attached to intake pipe (S2 per manual)
Get rid of greddy intake.
Get boost gauge / afr gauge at least.

That's basic. Not sure what your car experience is so if you already know the above issues then disregard. Happy motoring.

just an FYI, stepping on the brake peddle 20 times does not reset the ecu. Pulling the room fuse for 30 seconds does that.

i ran the AP with the greddy intake and HKS BOV, vent to air. only had issues with vaccum over 30inhg. so basically if i went from full throttle to nothing. just had ot pop the clutch to bring the engine back. became second nature after a while.

if your looking to have a good intake, get the AEM and use the following modification for the greddy kit https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-ultimate-diy-greddy-turbo-bhr-coils-aem-intake-mod-boost-control-195786/

aint that a b*tch! You know, i really wish greddy would step it up a notch on their R&D. alright guys i'm going to jump on the COBB AP and a HKS BOV (reic'd). And let you guys know what the out come will be.

And as far as the greddy air intake system, is the problem based on pulling hot air? and that is why you're recommending to purchase a CAI?

also i want to thank you guys for the advice on this problem

reason why the greddy intake is not recommended is the maf housing sizing is not ideal.

Plus it sucks in a lot of hot air at idle.

its maf sizing and turbulent flow are much more important than the heat of the eingine bay, especially since your putting that air through an oil cooled and intercooled turbo.
