You put a box wrench over the one furthest from the camera and then crank the larger one whilst holding the first steady.
The line will turn a bit until the two nuts separate from each other.
The bigger nut is holding a flare fit to the smaller nut which is a reducer.
A warning - it is brass and it is quite possible that it will break or strip.
Be prepared to build up a new one from Home Depot stuff.
I actually put my restrictor at the turbo end, BTW.

I tried to seperate the two and made a little progress, but there isn't enough room for me to get them apart. So I took off the front wheel and went under the car to see if I can put the restrictor in before the turbo...
I followed the metal line down under the car, it looks like it goes to the section just before the midpipe, and not directly into the turbo? Am I following the right line?

No offence taken. I didn't think that was the right line, but the hose looked similar to the one above, and seemed to trace from it.
I just need to find a way to get the restrictor in place. This isn't rocket science, I already have the part, I just need to get it into the line. I looked all over and couldn't find where the oil is going into the turbo. Should it be visible without removing the turbo from the car?
I actually had an appointment for Mazsport to do the install, but my son's school put up a hissy fit about needing me to come pick him up immediately... so I had to cancel - and I had already taken off work for this. So I'm not going to be able to schdule time off again for a while and all this talk about turbos blowing seals has me worried

I took a pic of the line that goes to the oil pan - but it looks difficult to reach the inner bolt.

edit: Ah, if I have to take the turbo out, I'll pass on doing it that way But doing it at the turbo end seems like the better spot.

I'm using an 0.047" restrictor and haven't any smoke from the tailpipes since. 0.042 is about 10% smaller than that. If you're smoking already I'd start with the 0.0625" and work my down until the smoking stops. That's what I did. Better that than using one that doesn't flow enough.

For my $.02 I have indeed read the #$% thread as it was so stated. Perhaps we are on a quest to ensure that one obtains an oil restrictor that will fit, correct sized threads, etc.. Either way can't we all just get along! :-)

Very valid points, I am just pissed at myself b/c I got on oil restrictor someone posted info about and it has blasted standard threads or threads that won't fit quite right, but that is my fault. I would just prefer a fully machined piece over the nos nozzle. Just me though.
