The 3076 (in the 3071 form factor) didn't exist when I first started offering the Upgrade Kit. I had to have them custom made.
That said, the turbo that has been (and is being) shipped with the Upgrade Kit is not the 3071 as it appears in the Garrett catalog.

Given the GTX3076 is in the house, what would you select for

1) MAF Tube Diameter as Draw Though
2) Injector Sizing
3) Manifold Design
4) Downpipe Diameter
5) Complete Exhaust Downstream of Downpipe

Oh Baby - now your talking turbo kit sex. Hey Paul, would you, Rick and the Doc, be upset if I boosted my Iannetti seals with this? Jeff would tune it for sure. Or, should I just build another engine?

Yea, Team thought so also. Even though I took MM's webinar for ATR/AP tuning, this setup would need his personal expertise. I need boost in 2011. I cannot let the World end in 2012 without Nemesis8 driving a boosted 8.

Boost that one then build another while you wait for the first one to blow

On good race gas

For high boost they would prefer you use the 3mm 13B seals and that data is all pre-Renesis and racing oriented, with shorter Renesis seals on who knows what pump gas quality you will need to be cautious ....

.

LOL you should have the opportunity to drive a pair of boosted 8s in 2 weeks. You just will not be the owner

anyone got an opinion on what turbine A/R works well as a trade off in boost threshold/high rpm flow?

I wonder about this . My current turbo spools as quick as the 3071 if not quicker (if the dynos are anything to go by ) and I still feel that I would like it to spool quicker still. Top end is fine (for me ) but the quicker spooling it is down low the more pleasant is is to drive on the street IMO .
For this reason I would go for the gtx 3071 over the 76 ......

Your choice will operate in a less efficient range, you still don't know your mass from a hole in the ground

It will be way more efficient than my current turbo and may even spool earlier - maybe .
It comes down to what you want . Track weapon or powerfull street car that has gobs of torque from low rpm .

I would not mind gobs of torque down low.

Yeah, my setup doesn't have gobs of torque down low.

Really, that is the crux of the problem with all of the Internet back-n-forth over which system/blower/turbo/bottle/yo-yo is better.

Seat time.

Nearly ALL of the people I find myself explaining this stuff to have never driven in anything other than their own car.
